I'm sure that GD want to sell the airboxes - give Andy a bell.

The stainless headers are quite jolly as well - miles better than coated stuff. T70 silencers are handsome.

The silencers are handsome but if they are the same summit ones they used to use they last no time at all! It's not easy to silence these beasts.

The silencers are made by JP. It'll be interesting to see how quickly they blow the stuffing out.......

Crafty...

Had a similar problem, so rang Andy! (its the only email address I have also)
Apparently he has been having serious issues with his email/ internet service...(haven't we all recently it appears)!
Andy told me he only got it working yesterday and apologised since then he has a large backlog to deal with!

Suggest just waiting for a bit...or if your anxious, give him a bell!

Incidentally I've got the pricing.......HAhAHA!yestongue out

cheers

All,

Here's the Gardner Douglas price list from Andy Burrows. I have a little history with Andy as I was looking into the GDT70 prior to purchasing my GTR. Very nice car!

I am seriously interested in this airbox and I know of at least one or two others that may want to buy one as well. Do we want to try and arrange a "group buy"

Chris

As am I.

I have an e-mail into Andy @ GD for info on a group buy, additional info/photos, and possible consideration for multiple purchases.

Chris

Guys,

This is the message I got back from Andy @ GD.

"Hi Chris,

I would be willing to offer you a 10% discount on the air box for an order of 5 or more.

Regards,

Andy"

I have requested pics (for the second time) so the jury is still out until I have a better look at the construction and fitment of the airbox.

Anyone out there care to offer some up-close shots so we are not "guessing" at what we are buying?

Chris

Here's Andy's response on the group buy.

"Chris,

The air box comprises two base brackets that fit over the manifold, the air box case, Corvette K&N pan filter, Air box lid with fixings, 180deg bend and silicone connectors.
we mould them in black gelcoat or carbon. The LSPower beauty covers are sold separately.

Regards,

Andy Burrows"

At this point I think someone closer to GD should organize the group buy. I'm in California.

Thanks, Chris

Guys: just saw a blurp from Vintage Air that they are building a very nice very compact drive systen for LS series motors they clain that the total distance from the block to the front of all the drives and pulleys is 7 inchs. That would leave quite a bit of room to the fire wall. I measured mine and the block is 9 inchs from the firewall. lee

Hi Simon, thanks for your comments. The "ole skool" look won't be everyone's cuppa tea but was the look I was after and Jeff certainly delivered for me along with some good numbers wink

The installation went OK. I removed the upper gear linkage support to make life easier but its not essential. I dropped the engine in with the headers on and then once in had a go at removing them. They could be removed without problem. Please bear in mind that this was done in an "empty" engine bay though.
You may need to modify the engine mount "pads" on the chassis. I had to chamfer the front and back edges so that the engine mounts would sit flush with the pads and allow the engine bolt holes to line up and hence the engine to sit properly. This had to be done to take account of the "internal" weld on the engine mountings. I'd recommend taking the engine mountings off the engine and trial fitting them to the mounts on the chassis to see if anything needs to be done.

Also worthy of note is that the factory supplied rear gear box support fits perfectly with the engine mounts and adaptor plate Jeff supplied. HTH and good luck with the install...your whole project is looking very good by the way yes
