Looking up the runway at Santa Pod always gives me butterflys - I don't know what does it - I never get nervous on a normal track. Would be good to do it with a bunch of other kit cars though so count me in.

Its spec was standard GTM Spyder 160 VVC with modified Mk III rear suspension.

I could change the style of the bodywork because the car was painted, but doing this on a gel coat car would have been much harder to do...

The rear diffuser is based on an Elise 111 3 piece unit, narrowed and made to fit!

The brakes were 300mm disks on bells with HiSpec 4 pots front, and 290mm solid rears with MGF calipers.

Here’s another turbo’d kit car – my Hawk Group 4 Stratos replica.

Running a Lancia integrale 16v head on a dry sumped Beta block, Garrett GT35 turbo, Autronic ECU, Gripper LSD – should be good for 450BHP+ when run in!

Cheers,
Chris

Wow - and I thought my engine bay was busy! Out of curiosity did MAD do your mapping too?

Yeah it is a bit cramped! Yes Mark has put an initial 'safe' map in, then is going to 'live' map it on the road - when they dry out smile

'Lotus' badging?

Oh dear.
nono
Is that a problem?
Most people in NZ have no idea what it is, as we are a bit lacking in the car department....if its not a Holden Commodore or a Ford Falcon in most peoples eyes its not worthy!!
I had some kids tell me what a cool "Beach Buggy" I had!
Lotus badging doesn't hurt.....helps spread the word wink

A bit sad really. Too embarrassed to badge it as what it actually is??
I'm not a big 'replica' fan and find the sticking of other manufacturers badges on a bit of a cheat, particularly as it really doesn't look like a Lotus Seven. A bit like a Toyota MR2 pretending to be a Ferarri.
I'd put the builders name on it. Individuality..it's a great thing. smile

nice, well replica's are a big part of the kit car scene unfortunately.... and its not like its a ferrari rep or something that it obviously isnt.
And yes it does look like a Lotus 7 in my opinion!
Im not embarassed by anything thanks let alone naming my vehicle I spent a lot of time and effort doing myself!
If you don't like it thats cool, im not particularly a fan of GTM Libra's, But thats just my opinion.
Individuality is a great thing, and individuals is what you and I are...

We should all be supportive of one anothers similar goals/hobbies, that is what Pistonheads is (or should be) about..
