Either way, that's a larger shear and tensile area than is used to hold your seatbelt on to the car.
Probably stronger than the seat belt and seat mounts combined, so if the NOS tank parts company with the car in an accident the driver probably wont be anywhere nearby anyway.

10L NOS tank held down by four M8 bolts? Talk about irresponsible, wonder what else is held together with spit and hope?doogz said:
A grade 8.8 M8 bolt will take 32kN in shear before it fails. That's 3.26tonnes.
There's 4 of them. That accounts for the mass of the bottle at a fair amount of deceleration, should an accident happen.
The tensile load in the aft bolts due to overturning is going to be the worst case there tbh, but without measurements, can't really work it out.

Thank God for your reply. There's 4 of them. That accounts for the mass of the bottle at a fair amount of deceleration, should an accident happen.

Saved me the bother.

Nothing like a casual SS logo on the door either...
Yeah that stuck out to me too! Unintentional do we think?
edit - I'd chuck the car out of any car show I was associated with if it arrived with an SS logo on the side.

I don't think it's unintentional and I don't like it one bit personally. Maybe that makes me po-faced in some eyes but the SS really weren't very nice chaps all things considered.

I know there is a "nordic runes" theme in some areas of rat style stuff, but I agree wholeheartedly. Assocating yourself so overly with the SS is not a good look.edit - I'd chuck the car out of any car show I was associated with if it arrived with an SS logo on the side.
That said, there are odder people, such as WW11 re-enactors who dress up as the SS. They have whole shows dedicated to it and it appears acceptable to the watching crowd...
Different ball game perhaps.

Now THAT sums up this thread! Subtle but also seriously quick! Superb!
Some more pics!

"I've also been doing some high speed testing with it. On 2bar boost and falling at peak rpm to just under it pulls 173/4 mph and very comfortably stops in 0.95 of a mile."
Results from Superflo engine dyno.

Always wonder how these things drive. Is it simply on boost, bar out of hell, off boost, the waiting game?
Looks mint. Very mint.
Depends on the driving style - it's powerful enough that pottering about at lower boost won't be a chore... If, however, you want to suddenly deploy full beans it will need the box stirring up to put you at 4k RPM where the boost comes on song.Looks mint. Very mint.
