I didn't intend to disrespect the Turbo Mat it is a fantastic, aspirational thing no doubt and congratulations on owning one. It just didn't work for me. But as I say, more my failing than the car.
No worries Brad, didn't think you were disrespecting the turbo. Just really curious about the change from the lambo to the 720, Both stunning cars.
Have a great day, maybe some Dave footage this evening?
Loving this thread, lurking but thought I'd chime in after seeing the drone. I recently got a spark and have to say it took me about 5-10 practice flights just to get reliable at connecting, flying, working out which shots to take etc. They are really a lot more complicated than the endless youtube vids make out, especially if you want anything at all 'cinematic'...
For the DJI drones, try out the active tracking option under the quick shots menu. This way the drone will follow you, move around you etc. whilst you move about the place. With the Mavic Air you will have a wider FOV too so will be much better than my lowly spark! Advice though, do not try active tracking with trees/lamposts etc. close by, makes for an interesting crash vid!
Currently on a euro trip myself and having endless fun tracking the car with the drone, although you have to be careful not to go too far otherwise the drone quickly disconnects and then returns to the take-off place!
Did Como a couple of years ago and it was fabulous, not too good for driving (went up towards St Moritz for the driving stuff) but excellent for just chilling/food/wine etc. Definitely one of those places that had me wondering why I had to even go back home at all...
EDIT: My understanding is the Mavic Air uses the same RF wifi as Spark (some EU rules) and so will start to cut-out around 150m/200m away, unlike Mavic which isn't restricted.

Just spent the last couple of hours reading this thread and loving it. I'm quite partial to a Euro hoon myself and I'm also quite partial to the 720S as the interior was my (and a few others) baby. I'd be interested to hear what you think of it.
Hang on... are you saying you designed the interior? Do tell us more...Swampy1982 said:
Sounds like you have a unique insight to a world not many are involved in... do feel free to share...
It's not amazingly interesting IMO. I worked for a consultants at the time contracted to engineer the interior. This meant being based in the studio most days and working with the stylists to realise their vision in something that can be manufactured but it's a team effort. Fascinating place to work and very sci-fi but I can't say I enjoyed the experience. It's very, very sterile or at least was then. After all that work I never did get to go in a 720s or any McLaren for that matter. unpc said:

Epic reading.
Something to be said about Supercars on the continent. I really feel Europe is an ideal place to enjoy one.
We have just spent the last 8 weeks driving around Southern Europe, with the kids, in a VW rental with another 6 weeks to come. I think after about 4 days I mentioned to the wife that we would get better use and much better experiences if we sold our at home and brought a LHD supercar/GT over here and use it for a long trip each year. There’s so much to see, do and drive!
Look forward to your next trip with interest!

Huge apologies ladies and gents, I just got completely distracted by having a bloody good time!
I've driven some amazing passes, cant remember the names but all recognisable stuff.
Had a superb "race" (careful!) after the Maloja pass. This is a proper cliff hanging twister which I haven't seen mentioned anywhere before but makes your head spin.
Going up I had a few cars in front of me but everybody was getting on with it. At one point
3 Ferrari 599's came the other way, 2 red and 1 grey, must have been touring.
In the mirrors was a woman in a souped up range rover, she was really pushing me but I had nowhere to go.
When we came over the top I had a van in front of me and she was really pushing, I thought she must know the route so I'll let her get in front. The second I dropped back and left a gap she roared passed! She tried to take the van too but it was still really twisty and I slammed on and let her pull in front of me just before she hit any oncoming car!
She gave me a wave out of the window and I thought f
k she's in a hurry!
Literally the next tiny bit of straight road she blasted passed the van. I thought well for pistonheads sake I've got to stay with her so thrashed round behind her. Not going to lie, it wasn't sensible.
Once free of the van she absolutely hammered it. This is Switzerland, the land of the car crushers so I'm very nervous but I thought f
k it, she must know what she's doing.
She drove like a f
king lunatic down the long winding stretch to the lake. We kept coming up behind 1 or 2 cars and she just blasted passed them with no fear or apparent regard for blind bends. I was just hanging on, it was f
king superb!
Once the straights got a little more sensible I waited for her to pass a couple of cars then stamped the throttle and passed her too.
Obviously I had loads more brute acceleration than her (although it was a very quick rangie! ) so I just powered away but quickly realised this wasnt any fun so held back for get to catch up.
She was well into it and came hammering passed me again as soon as she caught up!
We kept this overtake and switch fun up all the way to St Morritz and then she turned off at a roundabout.
The car was on German plates and I'm sure shell never read this but if she ever does is like to thank her for the best alpine fun I've had!
