Phrases that annoy you the most
Discussion
"Curated" is starting to annoy me.
To explain, I've curated the following examples of use of the word 'curated' where the likes of gathered, made, picked etc. would have done:
"At Lexoo, we've curated a panel of lawyers who specialise in employment law. "
"That's why we curated this list of tools: "
"The Cask Master within each of our pubs has curated their own range of ales".
But it looks like I'm "behind the curve" on this one: https://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/society/tosser...

Whenever I have a discussion with my 92 year old Dad, it is quite
common to sum up his views by saying;
“ It doesn’t bother me... I won’t get rich out of it”
Problem is... it’s rubbing off. ( Annoyingly)
PS: Don’t get me started on.. “ Thinking outside of the box”
Do people still use this phrase?’

How about "workoholic" and the similarly illogical "chocoholic" as words that seriously annoy - unless and until someone can show us samples of "workohol" and/or "chockohol" of course.
‘Oholic’ is a suffix denoting an addiction.Its just that it works well joined up with word alcohol. Hence just the ‘;ic’ part of ‘oholic is added.
It should be ‘alcoholoholic’.
So people referring to a ‘workaholic’’ or ‘newsaholic’ are using the suffix correctly.
Chocaholic works, as chocolateaholic is something of a mouthful.

Which makes you suspicious right away....
Also people who say;
“Like” or “do you know what I mean like” at the end of a every sentence.
Yes... I understand what you are saying.
This reminds me of a Scotsman who ended every sentence with "do you know what I'm saying?".Also people who say;
“Like” or “do you know what I mean like” at the end of a every sentence.
Yes... I understand what you are saying.
The irony being of course that it was the only thing I could understand him say.

Also,... ‘right’ at the end of sentences as well.
