Have to say, sometimes you only get quality when you pay for it; TToLG applied this morning around 8am and it's still clearly evident even now at 6pm - that's some excellent longevity. Most other scents have all but faded by lunchtime.
Good fragrance, but I would say suiting a slightly older chap as it's very barbershop (so not especially youthful IMVHO). Have been complimented on wearing it at work.

Great bottle too. biggrin

(Christmas present from wife)
I am knocking on a bit at 43.

The thing I've realised is great fun is to wear stuff for myself rather than thinking too much about others' perceptions. I have everything from zingy citrus-y through to leathery and smoky. I even wear fragrances when I'm at home and not even going out anywhere. biggrin

I realised that I should probably have a list of everything mostly for insurance purposes - in the event of needing to make a claim I'd probably be unable to recall everything from memory down the line. If anyone's interested here's the collection:

Bentley For Men Azure EdT - 100ml
Bentley For Men Intense EdP - 100ml
Bleu de Chanel EdP - 100ml x2

Want me to stick a couple of ml of Parfums Vintage's take on Aventus (Emperor Extrait) in one of the sampler atomisers and send to you? It's dearer than TEV but it is an excellent clone. Drop me a message if so and I'll sort it out for you.

https://www.parfumsvintage.com/product-page/empero...
Funk that would be awesome if you could! I'll DM you.
No worries - I thought about trying to re-use one of the small samplers I have but a) it might be hard not to cross-contaminate scents even with careful cleaning and b) 20x 3ml ones on Amazon was £4 delivered so it was an easy option. They'll be here Thursday so I can sort it out at the back end of the week for you.

Oh my Christ haha - that is insane but equally epic. Jealous.

I really want some Penhaligons portraits but they are so dear (deer). I’ll load up on some next time I’m in store to see how I like them throughout the day.

All the original bottles are in their boxes. The splits from Tom's Decants are in plastic atomisers so they're all in a repurposed Bulgari gift set box - so everything's in the dark. smile

Probably best I don't think about the costs... rofl

Aside from the ones I've already bought replacements for...? hehe

There actually aren't many I wouldn't replace once empty - anything I've bought that I wasn't actually that keen on I've sold on to someone else who wanted it so I'm left with a pretty decent variety of scents I really like. It's nice having something that's perfect for every occasion and stored correctly they'll last for years. I probably wouldn't replace the TF Noir Anthracite - it's not one I wear often and it's rare I chose it over others I have. It should tick a lot of my boxes - I usually like woody/citrus/spicy/leather scents - so Noir Anthracite seemed to be in the right arena but it just doesn't really click with me. I would sell it on but it's not a clear bottle so I genuinely don't know how much of it is left.

I still buy samplers - I'm working my way through the 10 Floris ones I have and I got some more TF the other day. In terms of 'daily drivers' it's Y Le Parfum, Bleu de Chanel, Allure Homme Sport, Bulgari Wood Essence, Creed Himalaya & GIT which are very versatile.

Ditto.

Will also usually have a different fragrance for the evening when I get home from work. Got a toddler, so wife and I don't go out very much, seems a shame to let the fragrances go to waste.

I've been on PH's more than half the years you've lived! You're just a young whippersnapper, snap out of it!

I must add my bit of text to this thread about 'aftershaves' when I have five mins. If only for those of us who 'don't' want to spend big bucks on 'splashing it all over.' So no, I don't need to insure my 'bottles', in fact if I dropped one it wouldn't matter.

But we are all different and spend our hard-earned on different things.

biggrin My comment was a bit tongue-in-cheek in response to g3org3y's comment about The Tragedy of Lord George being for the 'older gentleman'...

Re. the insurance, they're not insured specifically, however there's probably a couple of grands' worth to replace there in the (hopefully never-to-occur) event I suffer a total loss.

I don't really have any vices - I don't drink, I don't smoke or do drugs and my hobbies are relatively cheap; I love hifi but have mainly bought used however I do have a little bit of a LEGO addiction. biggrin Indulging in fragrances is relatively benign in the grand scheme of things..!

It's a tad late so a quick response. I have to say that was a lovely response, and really makes a change here on PHs where a lot seems to be divisive these days, and good luck to you. Life is for living how you want to and that's exactly how it should be, not be pushed one way or 'tother.

Cheers dandarez. FWIW, this thread isn't all about eye-watering sums for a bottle - many pages back I recommended one of the cheapest fragrances so far, namely Bentley's "For Men Intense" Eau de Parfum. It's a stunning fragrance at a bargain price (100ml for £27 at notino.co.uk for example) and most who bought it were, I think, broadly very impressed with it.

In amongst the £200+ bottles I also have quite a few other more wallet-friendly scents including Joop! Homme Wild - notino.co.uk have it at £23 for 125ml- and Hugo Boss 'The Scent' is under £40 on there for 100ml. Also Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet can be had for around £40 for 100ml on beautybase.com.

It shows you don't have to spend a fortune to get high-quality, intriguing and interesting fragrances. If anything there's more pleasure in finding something excellent at a budget price; one would rightly expect a £200+ scent to be nothing but exceptional for the money.

38 here. smile (I'd add Bentley Intense into that category as well, I don't think either would suit a 21 year old for example (IMVHO))

Vices: Lego, model cars, shoes and books for me... biggrin

Nothing in particular tbh, it's more a case of getting use out of the fragrances more suited for an evening - eg La Nuit de L'Homme, The One etc.

Agreed.

One of the interesting things is that the cheaper designer (rather than expensive niche) fragrances are the most mass appealing and compliment getting IMO. You're more likely to get positive feedback from wearing YSL Y than some super expensive weird niche fragrance that people on Fragrantica get excited about.
