These two were keepers. The 205 was mine for 4 years, the AX sadly only 9 months. Both were brilliant drivers cars, wish I hadn't had to sell either.

This one is definitely a keeper though:

Slowly bringing it up to date. Even if I have to mothball it for a while I wont be selling it.

Okay a strange one - Ford Sierra Sapphire 2.0i Ghia, it was the era where you could put a badge on, a set of alloys and headlight washers, add some velour and electric windows you have a luxury trim level.

Makes you appreciate all the standard kit we have now!

Yeah like aircon, heated windscreens, ABS, limited slip diff. Oh, wait, mine has those...

You do realise the Sierra Cosworth was in the OP?

I think his point was that the spec on a Sierra Ghia (Not Cosworth) is typical of what you find on lower to middle spec modern car.

This is my vivid memory of an 80's Range Rover, iconic.

There were a few of these about in the 80's 90's

I saw a load of these in Slough when I was a toddler.

If I was a millionaire, I would have these cars in my fleet, you wouldn't find anything brand new.

Classics.
I'm not so sure about this.
Wife had one and it was way more reliable than the Escort Diesel I drove at the time.

Personally I might be persuaded to buy another one of these....

Great choice. I remember always wanting one of these as a child. I loved the fact it looked like a Coupe when it was basically an Escort rival.

The Citreon's with the dropping rear suspension were also worth a mention. Don't see any of those about anymore.

I remember when they were everywhere.

You need to lose the Tesco Value wheel trims, though.

Here's one I've saved. Not standard but definitely not something to throw away.

I'd be doing my best to make that standard again, great cars the little 106 Rallye!

Always thought Ford steels of that era were pretty decent looking.

That previous post about the scrappage scheme and wasting a generation of perfectly good cars has annoyed me. (the subject of the scrappage scheme, not the poster hehe)

If I had enough money, I would keep the following:

classic shape Impreza turbo
Ford Escort MK4 RS Turbo
Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500
BMW E30 325i sport
BMW E36 323/328i

I am looking for either an Impreza turbo or an M52 block E36 for my next car, so I will be keeping at least one of the above.. hehe

I owned a V6 ZXI for a couple of years and had to sell reluctantly as a Company car came along and the wife wouldn't drive it frown. I also had a Citroen BX and wouldn't go near one again.

That was my plan originally but currently it's cheaper to buy another standard one than de-modify this one. And it is and absolute hoot!

Don't care that I'll have to wait another 10 or so years for some of them to die out so they appreciate in value. Love it to bits. I really don't even need it as I wrap it up in winter, so use it for half of the year, if that!

Slowly returning it back to a tastefully modified standard. Got the interior back to a decent standard, just need to add some chrome air vent bits and put the stock gearlever back on as this one is cheap chavvy tat. smash

Either putting spacers in and refurbing the MK2 wheels I have on or getting me some tasty 15" Watanabe wheels in black with a chrome lip like my old one.

Currently doing the same with the 8 Series in the back ground with my Dad.
