I am hopeless with plastic kits but I am continuing to muck about with old Matchbox models.
Another parcel of scrap arrived today, including a Ford breakdown truck (knackered) and a bent chassis from a Foden concrete mixer.
I got the junior hacksaw out and with a bit more tinkering I will have the basis for a Foden Heavy Wrecker.

As an aside robemcdonald, why do you have fantastic figures on your tank but never any pilots in your aircraft?
I’ve noticed lots of posters don’t put the pilots in, is there a reason for this? I always like painting them and seeing them through the canopy. Perhaps it’s about seeing all the other cockpit detail instead?

Your question has a really simple answer. The majority of aircraft model kits don’t actually come with a figure. The Tamiya ones tend to though and I always paint them if they do.
I really like painting figures as I think it really adds to the model.

Only this time, I have started to design and develop a new kit range by myself, rather than doing it for other manufacturers - so this is my first - and the reason I sold my TVR. This is, hopefully, the start of a new range of kits..

What do you use to cut the parts if you don't mind asking? 3-d printing is a mine field, there are quite a few different types. I need my master parts to be perfect, so I get another company to do that for me - I did look into buying a higher end 3-d printer (one of the reasons I decided to sell my car), but wasn't convinced that such an outlay was the wisest investment, especially when there are many other companies that can 3-d print for me.https://www.amazon.com/Glowforge-Plus-Laser-Printe...
Found a couple of old kits kicking around a week or so ago, so got going with this one a bit. I've never been quite at one with Painting them, but this hasn't come out too badly. Not quite complete and will need to sort out something for clearcoating it, but it looks better than it did sitting in primer in a squashed box!

I see Prusa are now developing a resin-tank 3D printer. Not cheap, but resin is probably the equivalent of a laser printer in a world that is currently "9-pin dot matrix" extrusion printers. 47 micron voxel size, and down to 10 micron layer thickness. Pre-orders are €/$ 1600 or the kit at €/$ 1300.
