We should do a poll: Who hasn't seen an A400 in the metal this year?
Me - nor the year before - in fact never. Are you an ex spotter by any chance? when I was a spotter way back when, there was always that little bit of competition on who had seen the best aircraft!
All purely subjective but it was like a continual game of Top Trumps. Happy Days!

I spotted that this morning too. Seems to have gone back and forth between Cardiff and Bournemouth a few time today...Given how quiet airports and airspace is at the moment, the go arounds could just be pilots taking advantage of the situation to practice the go around procedures at these airports - similar to how the RAF Herc, A400 and C17 crews are taking advantage to tick off every location in their "I-Spy Book of British Airports"...

My company would be pretty livid if I flew a go-around purely for practice. Even during training we never fly go-arounds, purely in the sim, and out of necessity. I've never flown the A340 but I'd guess that's the lion's share of a couple of tonnes of fuel they went through. For sure there are more go-arounds at the minute, partly because aircraft are empty, their approach speeds are significantly lower so they take longer to slow down. Sometimes crew misjudge this. Lack of currency means people might be slipping up. ATC aren't so fussed about us flying high speed approaches so there's more rope to hang ourselves with. Finally, aircraft that have been parked up for a while are always more susceptible to little gremlins, so some of them may be for technical reasons.
