Don't know if this has had a mention but it had me stumped when I saw one driving towards me in York. At distance , your mind says MK 2 Jaguar before dismissing MG Magnette ZB and then blowing a cerebral fuse.

This is a Mitsuoka ViewT and apparently there's a Yaris underneath the disguise .

I think it's a Micra, not a Yaris, but I could be out of date on that!

Both: early ones were Nissan March (Micra elsewhere), later 2023 on, Toyota Yaris.

I prefer the Micra based cars, one was a SOTW way back when https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

The Yaris based cars don't work as well, they still do the front but they leave the rear as the original hatchback but with different lights and chrome trim on the bumpers frown . But it probably wouldn't work on the current Micra either that dumped the round styling for angles and the parrot beak grille.

Not my cup of tea, anyway - difficult to see where you're going with a bag over your face... wink

I'd prefer the real thing cool

Love these Japanese 'tribute' cars, they don't take themselves seriously and neither should we. I briefly owned an S-Cargo and would dearly love another.

The greatest of Robert Jankel's creations... (but I think everyone or anyone is a petrolhead knows about this car)...

That looks like what a bunch of students would have put together for a scumball event in 2019 but in reality some Qatari minor royal would have paid £250k for that back in 1988, Jankel really was the purveyor of cars that taste forgot.

What? You want a Mercedes W123 and a Range Rover but only have one parking space? Well.....

Chamber of horrors here.....

That's unlocked a memory from old car mags, along with the Koenig Testarossa that's jumped into my head along with it for some reason

No it isn’t. It’s a little bit more significant than that.

Here’s a clue.

Is that how BMW transported those engines to McLaren, instead of loading them into a container?

So why aren't the engine mounts actually attached to the car?

I remember seeing it at the 1977 Earl's Court Motorfair, but I much preferred the Aston Vantage Volante that was nearby.

And the loadbay fully carpeted?

Looks to me like a marketing photo for the M5 Touring, showing how practical it can be (as demonstrated by it carrying a BMW M engine for the F1).

Even the Google AI on an image search can see it's just an engine in the boot of a standard M5.
