This is such a weak argument. You have to question how motivated someone is if they're 'disheartened' by the fact people of their ethnicity are rather few and far between.
I was sent to a public School, I'm also a white male with blond hair. I was never encouraged to pursue maths or Science's at A-level. I wasn't particularly interested in it either. However if F1 was always my passion, I would have done the subjects above. Education is open to everyone, and higher education is afford to all people. If you want something, the road to it is there.
I wonder if LH is so vocal about the fact that there aren't more races in the NBA or 100 and 200m track events? Sports traditionally dominated by people of African descent. Could it be that sport is the antithesis of PC culture? It's a meritocracy and people are rewarded for their ability and guile to win. It's exactly why LH can look at his cabinet full of trophy's. It shouldn't matter what race of people got him there, and how many of a certain people there were on the team. Surely the sign of a society getting over racial barriers is to look beyond such backward perspectives and judge a person on their merit? I'm genuinely sick and tired of this and it appears to be getting worse.

Everything you say is true in theory and from an idealist POV; but it’s actually quite a snowflake attitude. ‘Look, we are all equal... racism doesn’t exist any more!’
Sorry bud; doesn’t work the way you’d like it to.
In this case; as in many cases; speaking about engineering; behind the curtain team members are predominantly white. Again; the road is open to everyone... but if kids from minority backgrounds don’t see anyone that they can relate to in a particular field; then they are less likely to be inspired to go that route. That’s all that is.
I hate so called reverse racism, where people might be given roles; to fill a quota... nothing worse than that. All achievements should be on merit. But understanding that some kids are on staring blocks a little further back than other kids is one move in the right direction; toward a better balance.
Like I said, if you're demotivated from going into these fields, based on the lack of racial representation, then you weren't very committed to it in the first place. What attracted me to motor sport, because it sure as hell wasn't the people behind the machines. It was the machines themselves that interested me. By all means though, continue to make excuses though.

Funny, my girlfriend is from Zimbabwe and she's studying actuarial Science's. Her sister is studying Chemical engineering. Clearly aliens from another planet....

Again: bubble. Having a girlfriend from Zimbabwe won’t suddenly give you an insight into this complex issue!Like I said, if you're demotivated from going into these fields, based on the lack of racial representation, then you weren't very committed to it in the first place. And I don’t do excuses; I do ‘reasons’.
I have family that are black (I’m white) - and are doctors, lawyers etc. Again; I never said that it can’t be done or that the opportunities aren’t there for everyone. Trust me. But acknowledging that kids from some backgrounds won’t feel that they belong on certain career paths; means that they start one step back.
Your idealistic view of the world is a nice one though; ‘we are all equal’... wouldn’t that be lovely.
On many occasions over the past four years Lewis has gone out of his way to please my 8 year old g/son Dylan.
Dylan goes to about 4 GP's per year with his mum and over the past 4 years Lewis has invited him into the Mercedes Hospitality unit, given him a signed visor, bought him an ice cream, signed his autograph book and caps many times. Once he even stopped his car when leaving Silverstone to sign Dylan's autograph book.
These kindnesses and his skills on track mean that he's a hero to young Dylan - and to me.

That’s excellent and commendable but I’m guessing these weren’t all chance meetings?Dylan goes to about 4 GP's per year with his mum and over the past 4 years Lewis has invited him into the Mercedes Hospitality unit, given him a signed visor, bought him an ice cream, signed his autograph book and caps many times. Football, NBA, NFL, Boxing, Athletics to name but a few all have huge amounts of very talented men and woman from ethnic backgrounds. And I don’t do excuses; I do ‘reasons’.

The talent in these sports are much easier to find due to the fact you don't have to pay a small fortune to be noticed.
This is the problem with F1 but it is nothing to do with colour.
It is to do with costs.

Yes, completely by chance. Dylan was in the right place at the right time. I was at the Resto Show at the NEC today & found a cartoon sculpture of LH's McLaren, Dylan will get that for his birthday tomorrow. His mum will be getting a Fangio Ferrari model as it's her birthday too.As an addendum to this. When I took his mum to her first GP at Silverstone when she was 13 in 1999, David Coulthard did exactly the same for her & stopped to sign her autograph book in virtually the same place that LH did for Dylan.

Yes, that is Hamilton all over. Very easy to engage with the fans. Saw him a few times in Monaco. I remember him being next to us when he came to try a cigarette boat. The quay was full of people and he took his time to wave and all signing and more. the next day (or afternoon, can't remember) Rosberg came to try the boat as well. I reckon no more than 5 people were on the Quay and not a word. As an addendum to this.
