Great thread. In fact I decided a few months ago to, from here on in, only buy purple cars.

Here's my bargain basement daily.

(Oh - and it's not just purple. It's actually 'Tuscan Plum')

!

(Doesn't look very purple there - ugh - better picture required)

Better.

We wanted a purple Elise but they command a premium.

Here's another that commands a premium, the one and only integrale evo3:

TVR "Rolex blue" looks great!

Nicer on a bright day smile

I also really like Purple Pearl:

And whatever this is:

I learned to drive in a K11 Micra the same colour as that one on Page 1. I have unresolved purple issues I think laugh

I think they are a handsome car. Well proportioned, roomy, well equipped.

Shame there are so many of them and most are the V6.

Some lovely purples in this thread...

Goes in the same pile as Green and Yellow for under used but very nice colours.

There are two Discovery 4s in this colour round my way. They look fantastic in the metal. This photo doesn't do the colour justice.

There's your answer why purple isn't popular.

For "wacky" colours I prefer yellow or orange.

Purple isn't popular because everyone is generic, dull and unimaginative.

The only negative comment I've ever had is from a generic person who drives a stunningly generic German car who said I should have gone for black, as it would have looked more modern - comically missing the point of buying a 1990s sports car almost entirely.

Love that colour too, they also offered something very similar on Jags too. LR colour was called Bali Blue IIRC.

One of my favourite purples is Black Eye Purple, found on the 1st Gen MINI;

Again, photos don't do it justice. With the right mods, it is probably my favourite looking MINI.

I'm sure Jay Kay claimed to own the world's only purple RS6. Not sure if there's any truth to that but it looks ace.

Those RS6's still look just so right dont they?
Love it!

And lusted after a Corrado in Blackberry.

While I love Mulberry Corrados, I'd argue that Mystic Blue is more of a purple...

More commonly found on the Mk3 Golf...
