The shouty front grille opening is less obvious in this body colour compared to the images of red ones to show the differences in front bumper design.

Audi: more models in their range than anyone ever needed.

I saw an S3 today on the M25, first one I have seen, what is the point of this model?
If you want a small 4 door 3 box Audi saloon buy an A4/S4. Why did they bother to make a 4 door A3?
I think you could say that of all the German manufacturers these days, and others as well.

Each to their own etc, but I went for the S3 over the S4 as I like the compact size, looks, it's faster, lighter, cheaper, more modern based on a new model not an outgoing one, has better technology, better fuel economy, better emissions etc etc

An A4/S4 is hardly a small car these days, someone on audi sport did a comparison of an old A4 and the new S3 and the dimensions were almost the same.

I'd look at an S3 saloon as it's the right size for me/family/usual driving, but an S4 is too big, more expensive and currently based on old tech and an old platform.

I think the S3 8V is a cracking looking car .. (I like the German Impreza comparison too, just wish the S3 sounded like one) ..

Yes because anyone needs a bmw 3gt.

I love these small fast saloons, likes of the volvo s40 t5 etc, op, what stopped you from specing led headlamps over xenon?
I didn't spec the car myself as it was a demo car used by the general manager of the site.

It was pretty well specced up anyway with what I would have chosen myself so I am more than happy with it. I think the xenons are fine and wouldn't spend another £800 of my own money on Led lights if speccing from new anyway. I drove a Leon cupra with Led lights and wasn't that impressed but I think the Audi ones may be better.

I know everyone bashes audi on here but i recently got a facelift A3 8P and i love it. Yeah is not the last word in excitment but it feels surefooted, a nicely laid out interior, fit the dogs in the boot and feels solid. Yours is lovely, when ive got mine paid off think i will get the sportback version of your car. Enjoy

Managed to clean mine and take my first outside pictures yesterday, as I only have the ones from the Audi showroom so far.

The pipes of a C63 AMG and the lungs of a Golf GTI

Love the rest of the car though, dull colour aside.

Not a big audi fan but I think that looks brilliant actually.

The maps look very impressive too. Never seen a satalite photo view before.

Because like, every other car these days, the 'small 4 door' car is not mahoosive!

Parking my son's Mk1 Clio yesterday at the sports centre made me realise that just making cars bigger and bigger (supposedly safer, but did they need to get big too?) isn't always a good thing.

Someone sometimes parks a real Mini Countryman too and that looks like a scale model!!!!

My wife's got a company car hatchback A3 (no points for guessing the engine type and sizy rolleyes ) and she's - and I to be honest - only recently discovered that this is a touchpad you can write the first letter of the person you're looking for in your phone or your detination's postcode in the satnav with your fingertip.

Very clever.

I like. Not a massive fan of recent Audi's, but I like this.

RS3 version? biggrin
that's what i was thinking, the saloon looks so much better than the sportback, and the pics of the new RS3 could just as well be an S3

now if they made an RS3 saloon that looks like this, its piggy bank raiding time smile

I really like this. Didn't know that a saloon variant existed to be honest. Looks far nicer than the hatchback is and a lot more professional. Is also probably closer in size to the original S4 than the S4 of today.

Well played, Audi.

Looks like an absolute cracker, although I would be concerned about the combination of Audi 'sports' suspension, 19" wheels and the bad back you mentioned.

If that's true, that is very clever!

A work colleague has the S3 hatch/sportback, but he's boring so I refuse to ask him about it! hehe
I do miss my S3 225 from 2002 - rare colour and spec - although I see it around from time to time. :-(

Yes that is true, I think BMW do the same now as well.

The tech is really good with the Tech Pack High in the A3/S3, The Google earth maps on the sat nav and the 4G connection and WiFi hotshot is great.

I like these a lot. Nice to have something a bit smaller now that everything else is massive.

Going to have a tough decision in a couple of years when picking between these and M235i's. Lets see which one depreciates fastest hehe.
