Looking forward to this! I've only ever watched T1, T2 and T3. Are any of the others worth bothering with?
I think the one with Christian Bale is an OK scifi film, but not really a terminator film. the other one....fking ell, it's an insult, in the same way The predator was an insult

Georg delivers a wonderful appraisal of how they changed. Astute.

i wonder if they can avoid the "high speed back and forth almost inaudible "banter" that's supposed to be amusing but is actually utter ste" that seems to be prevalent in most films nowadays, for example the new Ghostbusters and Predator films, and have some dialog that advances the story as found for example in Terminator 1 and 2, Predator, DieHard etc.. etc...

What a refreshing change that would be....not holding my breath though as it seems Hollywood has to add this trendy crap into every single film now as if its a requirement that on-message audiences (ie. tts) can't do without.

Is it really that hard to write a proper script without this tripe in it? Apparently it is for any modern screenwriter....

If you go back and watch the best 80s/90s films you notice just how sleek and streamlined and to-the-point most of them are compared to the recent waffling "humourous" twaddle that they force into every single film now.

THe link I posted earlier has good examples of it, from T5, which is just awful...everyone needs to have snappy patter like a 40's screwball comedy newsdesk. THere was a US cable show recently ish called he Newsroom, started off ace, but became incredibly tedious quickly because every single character was the same with the same snappy comebacks. Audio-diarrhoea.
It's not exactly the same, but Plinkett's comments on st wannabe ghostbusters is very similar.

just paterpatterpatterpatter. Modern comedies have non-stop impro scenes, and films that are not comedies and should not be filmed like comedies (The predator) have the same fking thing. Nothing means anything. OLder films took themselves seriously enough for you to believe the actors think it's real. Modern films wanna stick so many cute, parody self referential jokes and one-liners it's lik some bizarre variety pastiche of older films. That was what happened to T5
watch the plnikett thing for around 10 mins, it covers it.

Yeah, exactly that, it's like the improv scenes from Saturday Night Live or whatever but constantly through the film. I just can't watch a remotely-serious film that has this sort of dialog. It may have a place in comedy films like Bridesmaids (which I did find very funny indeed) but not in films like The Predator or Terminator. And as usual with Hollywood they over-use everything that made sense in one film. Like slo-mo scenes, which were great in the Matrix, but got very old very fast when shoe-horned into every single other film.

T1 was excellent. T2 was imgo even better but then the rot set in. The latter ones looked to have been directed by someone whose previous experience was with Teletubbies. I await T6 with unabated breath

Ah yes i do know what you mean. I too have noticed such a thing. And i have commented the same thing. Horror films or thrillers or sci fi films ruined for me because it takes away from the atmosphere.

I doubt anything could top or at least get close, to T2.

The twist at the beginning when Arnold was suddenly revealed as the good guy, I thought that was brilliant at the time.

I recall the trailers, they filmed a special version of the 'I promise not hurt anyone' but, but he looks directly at the camera. The word was that AhNold was the good guy, but you don't really know till you're in the cinema

The CGI of when the robot thing jumps from the front of the truck and the iron bar hitting the womans arm, looks very poor.
