The gearknob suggests it’s the first V12 Vantage with the 6 speed box?

I’m fairly sure Big Rys car is a V12VSR 7 speed manual and the gear knob in the picture was retro fitted. The later central dash is the giveaway. I’m sure I saw a post ages ago about it. Did AM manage to fit the correct top cap, showing the 7 speed layout?

Best Regards

Indeed it is the 7 speed dogleg biggrin

I bought it over two years ago now from a fellow PH gent........and I absolutely love it. A few days with the 7 speed and you get used to it.

I never managed to get the gear insert updated for 7 speed, nobody wanted to do it for fear of damaging the aluminum itself and winding up with a £700+ bill for a new one.......which is fair enough. If money was no object I'm sure Works could arrange a solution, but the reality is I'm not bothered now.

I must admit I'm always wearing blue jeans and have had zero issues. I've wiped the seats down 2-3 times in two years with baby wipes........and they're as good as the day I got it. Don't fear the truffle rofl

That gear knob is so much better than the standard item, looks special.

I have to agree, and for me it's a bit more special even that that. When I got an SP10 Manual back in 2015, I had works add the V12 gear lever, when I sold it I had them remove it and give it back to me. I then had them add my gearstick to the V12V I had (yep I know it already had an ali one, but it wasn't my original one), then when I swapped that for the V12SMR, I got them to move it again.

Basically, it's the same gearstick I've had in every manual Vantage I've owned.

Geeky I know, but I like it biggrin

Could someone post the standard one for comparison?
