Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy tv series
Chinatown with Jack Nicholson
Logan's Run film
Hitchhikers was very poor compared to the original radio series, IMO.
So i believe but then compared to the film, the TV series was incredible. The film was dog st.

I unexpectedly found The Vicar of Dibley absolutely hilarious when watching it the other day - I thought it was ok the first time around but watching it again and it’s much ruder and funnier than I remembered.

We watched them in the first lockdown and loved them. Very funny and as you say ruder than I remember.

I'm not one for old films, but North by Northwest is pretty, pretty good.

Totally agree on the Andromeda Strain, one of the best sci-fi films ever made. smile

I've just 'Lockdown binged' all 30 episodes of Peaky Blinders.

Really enjoyed it. Watched it solo with no interruptions for spicy language, family intrigues or gratituitous sex scenes and now can't wait for the next series due next year. Couldn't agree with a separate thread on here suggesting it was so-so.

Fabulous atmosphere, the buildings, canals and interiors and a reasonable plot although the end was left wanting. Some great cars too, especially Tommy Shelby's pre-war Bentley.

Boogie nights is still a good movie and holds up well. Still enjoy The Burbs, Moneypit and Turner and Hooch. Also guilty pleasure the first couple of Death wish movies are also still pretty good.

Bruce Lee would have been 80 years old last week, I need to find my old VHS in the loft of Enter the Dragon.

3 pages in and no mention of The Professionals. The greatest late 70s nostalgia binge available. Oh, and the genuine old TV winner...Columbo. Hands down for me.

.

Possibly my favourite tv show of all time, the greatest story about the love between two heterosexual men ever told. I also loved Robin of Sherwood, which was my favourite childhood show, once I'd grown out of Roobarb and Bagpuss. Bought the dvds of Robin of Sherwood recently, still stands up very well against modern stuff, especially The Swords of Wayland.

Casablanca is the greatest film of all time in my humble.

Ice Cold was on a cpl of weeks ago and I made sure I set the record timer. Great film.

I caught the Blackadder run, Blackadder as the executioner. Still has me almost crying with laughter.

And of course the season is now upon us, perfect for three of the greatest films of all time: Miracle on 34th Street, It’s a Wonderful Life and Die Hard.

Another Christmas film I love is "Meet Me in St Louis". My wife and I used to love watching it together. Sadly, as she is no longer with us, I can't really say I want to watch it anymore - but I recommend it to anyone who likes genuinely warm and fuzzy movies over the Christmas period.

Tales of the Unexpected
They are being shown on the Sky Arts channel

I'm not really a big fan of Christmas movies but I do have a soft spot for both the Mrs Miracle movies.
