Anybody else bored with the Hype ?
What??? when was the last time a legit car company built a drivers manual V12 instead of a handbag. I find it bold & exciting. Porsche seem to be the only other ones listening by atleast offering the GT3 in manual. Now if Ferrari could build an F40 2.0 instead of trinkets how good would that be? For me the power race just seems like a race to the bottomIt sounds great.
For me this is what it's really about. Imperfection makes for unbelievable noises.

The richness of these 2 valve 3 liters is awesome.

I have the same issue on iOS but when you click the video it goes full screen. The exhaust manifolds on each bank collect cylinders 1, 3 and 5, into one group of three, and cylinders 2, 4, and 6 into a second group of 3. Normally a V12 collects the front 3 cylinders of each bank into a group and the rear 3 cylinders into a second group. One wonders if the firing order is different than usual, or the cranks are at different angles, or whether one just gets better breathing from different grouping. Be interested to know the reason ...

So you want the pulses in your exhaust to be 'even', that is to follow a nice even rhythm, with no gaps. Doing the exhaust as you described does that, anything else does not.You could alter the firing order in a V12 but the overall pattern is so easy, clear, obvious and has so many benefits you'd never change that, hence the best exhaust design will always be the same. I am sure those other V12's had different exhaust designs due to cost/packaging reasons?
You are right though, the McLaren F1 engine and some V12 F1 engines I have seen are 1,2,3 / 4,5,6 -> 1 . Am I wrong?
