You're quite correct, thread does discriminate against those who've never owned a car. biggrin

Read the handbook and familiarise myself with what does what.
yikes Most modern cars have a thing the size of the bible. Well done you hehe
On line, if you can filter or select via VIN it will be specific to your car.

Good choice.

Spurred on by the recent PH Brave Pill thread, where most the owners said that these cars said that while they do have their niggles from time to time, they are actually a pretty safe bet?

I sold mine a month+ a go and I do miss it!
Yeah it was partly that thread that convinced me to try one.
Had mine 4 yrs, can't stop loving it

If was inclined to brag about buying a slightly leggy 2006 Jaguar I can assure you I’d make no attempt to disguise it.

Fatal first wash and polish to find all the bad bits I didn’t notice when buying because I was as excited as a kid at Christmas. You’d think after 58 cars I’d get it right each time…

It is easy to miss something, thats why the first wash and dry is always important.
Owning 58 cars is quite an achievement, what is the story behind that please?
Unless you happen to be a car dealer of course, then it is understandable. laugh

Mats, wiper blades, cabin filter (even cars with full dealer service history will have a cabin filter full of leaves...), oil and filter if it hasn't been serviced. Almost always new tyres to get rid of the Wanlis.

Drive it
Take it to my favourite quiet road with a width restriction and stop in the middle mirrors out so i can walk round and check the width

Drive through width restrictions numerous times until i am happy then enjoy it

Do weekly clean and checks
