Noble for me please.
That Marcos looks like it's just finished special school and E Types will be worth 50 pence once my dad's generation dies off because nobody under 75 gives a stuff about them. I can't imagine anyone in their 40s today ever wanting something so slow and ugly for such a ridiculous price tag.

I know it's subjective, but are you blind?
Not exactly what I'd call slow either.
It certainly wasn't slow.

You didn't specifically limit the participation, so now here's Johnny Foreigner.
First of all: It's an easy question, isn't it. The back catalog of magnificent or appealing cars from the UK is not a thin publication.
And of course many of the cars already posted in this thread are fav's of mine, too. You lot at the back, the ones shrugging and moaning about the E-Type: Please. We know it's not precisely to everyone's tastes, especially given the abundant choice since. But it does have lovely feline shapes and it was a commercial and culture tour de force.
I'll try to add to the list, rather than fall back on the me-toos:

Two of those have foreign engines, so are they really the 'Best of British' ?First of all: It's an easy question, isn't it. The back catalog of magnificent or appealing cars from the UK is not a thin publication.

- the third is the Hackney, which is an LTI Fairway rather than an Austin FX4. As such it would have, or have had, a Nissan diesel engine under the bonnet. I really miss the days of the Fairways in service.
I fell in love with E-Types at primary school when someone brought in a red Corgi model of a FHC (his mum worked in a toy-shop).
But years later I realised the track looked very narrow in Commer van style and discovered that no factory model ever did 150mph when I read an article about the discovery of the original test car that had a high-compression head and 3 carbs! The 265bhp claim was SAE and years later the same 4.2 litre engine in an XJ was only rated at 170bhp DIN. How the mighty are fallen, and dreams shattered.
As stunning as the XJ220 is having driven around the IOM in a rental Focus I'd rather take a Metro 6R4!

I realise that I’m going to get lynched on here for this… but why oh why does everyone spaff their pants about the E Type? They just look very odd to me, mainly because of the wheels and the way that they’re so far into the bodywork. They just look like an old Commer van to me…

Mid mounted flat configuration engine.
Keep your Boxers & Porsche Carerra GT.
Well it’s the end of the trip and it’s been fantastic. Brilliant organised, great comeradie, stunning scenery and the locals were all incredibly friendly even though they had to out up with road closures just for us.
The only disappointment for me was that the mix of cars wasn’t quite as eclectic as it might have been.
The Noble was an absolute blast, after 17 years I’m more in love with it than ever.
