I was thinking it would be a one-off opportunity, and loved the idea of seeing Metallica, but at those prices I won't be going!

That's phenomenal money, I mean it's a phenomenal line up AIC and Gojira alone are worth going for but, I'd need 3 tickets and I'm not likely to get them anyway.

£262 for standing a good way back as well;

It's going to be an epic show. Not sure I can justify 400 quid for a good seat/'gold' standing though. A guy who works for me's daughter is a backing singer for Sleep Token but he can't blag me a ticket hehe

I wonder if the Brummie contingent are going to take Slash, Hagar etc sight seeing? Show them all the highlights?
Slash used to live in Stoke, so it’ll nearly be home away from home for him.

Mega lineup. Dynamic pricing is going to go mental!
Livenation, screwing music fans worldwide.

We have a small theater near us that is owned by Livenation, they wanted $1200 for Graham Nash tickets last year.

They book the artist, own the theater, own the beverages and own the merch with everything over priced to the max

I'd mulled over trying to get tickets but i'm not even going to bother.

Right now i'm happy with not going, whereas making the effort to try to get them and almost certainly not getting them would be disappointing.

I'm sure it'll be an amazing day, but i did watch the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame induction whereby they'd Ozzy on stage in a chair and some guest singers singing his stuff. It really didnt work for me. I hope they dont resort to that

I'm kinda the same. Was interested along with a couple mates but with sales restricted to 2 per person, even if we got tickets we'd be lucky to even be in the same stand and likely paying £300+ for the privilege. Assuming they run a livestream we'll get a BBQ and some beers arranged instead.

That was my understanding.

Its Beyonce tickets that are released today. Work colleague has been trying to get them for his daughter.

Yes a livestream would be awesome.

I saw Black Sabbath back in 2014 on their 'The End' (sic) tour. They were pretty good, though the drummer was a hard hitter who didn't really get the jazzy swing that was always lurking in Bill Ward's playing. Ozzy kept putting his head in buckets of water, and the spray from this seemed to kill multiple radio microphones. He also did all his showboating/crowd riling over the top of Tony's guitar solos, which was annoying as I wanted to hear Tony cut loose.

I doubt Ozzy is going to be any better, eleven years later. The second list of special guests for this gig makes me wonder if they are going to get through a set of Sabbath songs by subbing out Ozzy with guest singers left and right. Do we need to hear Slash soloing over War Pigs? I think it will be a revolving cast of famous musicians assembled into mini bands for a couple of songs, with very limited musical chemistry or spontaneity. Wolfgang Van Halen on guitar, Duff McKagan on bass and the dude out of Ghost to run through a couple of tunes from the Paranoid album... then cycle them all out to make another band for a couple of more tunes.

If that doesn’t sell out in a 0.0001 of a second I’ll be amazed. Will try for tickets anyway.
Me too. Expecting £200 for a seat in the nosebleeds, but it'll be a hell of a show. You know you're special when Metallica are your support act!

O2 pre-sale and possibly others today.

My mate had a few choice words for the Ticketmaster pricing model;

Tried to get tickets yesterday on the Artist pre sale. Couldn't even get in the queue - the auth code finally arrived over 2 hours later.
1 friend managed to get 2 standing tickets @£360ish each. These area "manchester bus" package, a ticketmaster scam to inflate the already inflated price.

Tried the O2 presale today. Managed to get in, and started at 29679 in the queue. 2 others were similar with over 25000 others ahed in the Q.
1 friend managed to get in at 5000 in the queue and eventually got through to selecting tickets - only available were golden circle at >£600 each. 30 seconds of procrastinating and they were gone. Everything else sold out.
I stayed in the Q anyway, and finally got through after 11.30 and no surprise, everything was sold out.

Hoping the general sale on Friday will be fruitfull, but not holding out any hope.

Seen Sabbath on the last tour and Geezer Butler & Tonni Iommi were great, would really like to go to this one, mainly cos of the event line up and it being Sabbaths last ever gig (probably, this time, maybe).
Hope it gets streamed as thats probably the only way I'll get to see it!

Far from epic,load of bands doing a quick 'tribute' to get that number of acts in, Sharon wheels Ozzy out,waves good by,..that's it,final cash grab,but it's for charidy....yeah once the 'costs' have been split
Interestingly see Bob Daisley says he's glad he wasn't asked ,can't believe Jake E turning up

Saw Ozzy and Sabbath enough times as a young head banger, but still haven’t seen Metallica. No way that I’m going to be able to go to it, await the videos….

I’m not surprised that the ticket prices are raising a few eyebrows, but seen from here in the USA it looks cheap. The Americans have completely embraced the ticket reselling leeches and so tickets for popular gigs are routinely exchanging hands for thousands. One of the reasons why so many yanks flew to Europe to see Taylor Swift - even with flights and hotels it was cheaper…

There a few on there that are on my bucket list.

Having got an email from Live nation about. Alresale, have logged on this morning and the live nation resale takes you straight to ticket master anyway.

Managed to finally log on before and get in the waiting room to then be out in the que at 10:01 with 26,406 people in front of me. It's now 10:08 and still sat at 22,010.

Such a shame.
