If Trump had just written the letter in "normal" language, it would have seemed less obvious. Still, surely this has to be a deliberate attempt to mislead congress and the US public?

(Although as I write that, I know that such behaviour is now just the new normal from the Presidency, so it will probably have little impact).

The question has to be - why's the doctor speaking now? Because of the hypocracy over Cohens office raid, or because maybe Trump had an NDA over him that was in Cohens raided docs and he wanted to get in first?

The optics don't look good but context is relevant.

There were a lot of people crowded around Trump so not that easy to stand up.

He would also most likely have met them all initially off camera when they arrived and no doubt was standing at the time before everyone was told what was going to happen aka speech shake hands for cameras etc.

Just to add, the link below is to the video of this. He was sat down reading from a piece of paper and shook 3 people hands, all while sitting down. Even if it (laughably) was "not that easy to stand up" i think any respectful human would have said excuse me to the people around him and ask them to move so he COULD stand up. Shows why he didn't even bother to try i suppose.

Does the letter amount to falsifying medical records? Pretty serious offence I'd imagine.

Even if not, can the medical exam be believed in light of the doctor being so easily manipulated?
