Star Wars - The Mandalorian
Discussion
i wonder if baby yoda is meant to die at some point? In one of the 7-9 films, was it Luke says shes the last hope and Yoda says, no there is one more?
At the time i thought he meant Ben was the last jedi (should he turn out to be good) but im also thinking that Baby Yoda is the one more one.
Which contradicts my first point and/or have i got all my movies mixed up?

I think Yoda says that in Return of the Jedi. The Mandalorian is set after RoTJ. Star Wars films do lack an awful lot consistency anyway, so I wouldn’t place too much emphasis on what anyone says.At the time i thought he meant Ben was the last jedi (should he turn out to be good) but im also thinking that Baby Yoda is the one more one.

We saw force sensitive kids in 8 I think.
There is just no training infrastructure for Jedi anymore, which is what Luke was trying to establish with Ben.
The whole last of the Jedi, Order 66, spent force thing is constantly shifting. If you take the expanded universe Rebels and the cartoons (this) and games into account then there seems to be loads of Jedi and Sith knocking about.

Last week they were complaining the female mandalorian armour had boobs (seriously!) even though it looked fine and realistic (and the same as in the clone wars series).
The show has a diverse cast of good characters and they are still complaining, they'll never be happy, next week it will be something else.
If a person with breasts (we daren’t assume their gender The show has a diverse cast of good characters and they are still complaining, they'll never be happy, next week it will be something else.
) is to wear armour, do they expect they will have it all baggy, or squash them flat?! Morons.

You did see the episodes with the stormtroopers doing target practice ??
And not to mention they actually hit their target several times in this episode, not their fault his armour is stronger than their blasters. They easily win almost every battle they're involved in in the films Storming Leia's ship, attacking the Jawas and Luke's parents (okay, last two not exactly hard), capturing Hoth, Capturing Cloud city and capturing the Rebel Squad on Endor.
The only time they lose is Leia's escape from the Death Star, when "they let us escape" and against a surprise attack by the bloody Ewoks on Endor, not before they slaughtered half of them.
Still, If I was a Stormtropper I'd be having a word with my Union rep "yeah, this armour they make us wear, it's useless against kinetic force or blasters, and we'd can't see so we keep walking into doors"

I think the issue is that the stormtroopers have never killed a significant character in lord knows how many fights whilst they have died in droves.... they just don't seem like a threat. They easily win almost every battle they're involved in in the films Storming Leia's ship, attacking the Jawas and Luke's parents (okay, last two not exactly hard), capturing Hoth, Capturing Cloud city and capturing the Rebel Squad on Endor.

Which brings me to my only real criticism of this series... the good guys often tend to win a bit too easily

oof what an episode that was.......... plenty of name dropping, plenty of setup for future plot lines. white sabers......loved it.
Good episode. It's aching for some more backstory and connection to the Star Wars Universe. A more complex arc wouldn't go amiss with some difficult choices either. It all gets too neatly wrapped up each episode - there need to be a few more loose ends. Still, it's like stumbling upon an oasis every seven days of a long trek through a desert.
