I have absolutely no desire to argue the toss about it, and I could care less about what length it actually was, but it was still in my Sky Box planner, so I checked it out, and it said 3 hours 28 minutes..
Go on thenBelow is an excerpt from www.slate about its use, Google it, you don’t like it? I could care less.
There are several good reasons why people might say, “I could care less.” And no, the list does not include “because they’re stupid and have no idea how logic works.” It turns out, there are a number of things about English that conspire to make “I could care less” a less irrational phrase than it might seem.
1. Sarcasm
A number of language writers have suggested that “could care less” has a sarcastic reading, conveying something like “Ha! As if there were something in the world I could care less about.” There are some American Yiddish-inflected phrases that work this way, like “I should be so lucky!” (meaning “there’s no way I’m ever gonna be that lucky”) or “I should care!” (why should I care?). Even if “could care less” didn’t originate from a sarcastic intent, it matches up well enough with these other forms in the language to help give it staying power.

This is a film thread, we shouldn’t detract from it by discussing my use of a common expression.

I don't care how you paint it, its wrong, you will just have to live with itBelow is an excerpt from www.slate about its use, Google it, you don’t like it? I could care less.

I did say that we shouldn’t hijack the thread, you think that it’s wrong, I think that it’s okay, let’s both live with that.

Now, what was your opinion on “Hacksaw Ridge”, if you saw it?
I thought that Andrew Garfield played Pfc Doss very convincingly,
and Vince Vaughn as his sergeant in an admirably subdued style.

FWIW I liked Hacksaw Ridge and Andrew Garfield was decent. I think that it’s okay, let’s both live with that.

Lets hope that's an end to the pointless bickering about pointless stuff

Rocketman.
I have no idea how to score this. It was very well done, but in equal measure, bloody annoying.
I'll give it a 6/10 as it was trying to honest, and in large part I think it was a decent stab.
On the other hand, I still have a problem with people bursting into song for no reason. (West Side Story the exception).

Once Upon a Time In Hollywood
Finally got round to seeing this last night. 9.5 maybe 10/10 for me.
Ten face smashing hippies out of Ten char-grilled Piggies
I successfully avoided everything about this movie, before I could see it myself. I had no idea it incorporated the Manson Family murders and thought it was done to perfection and a cool surprise when I began to see it unfold. Love the revenge/retribution for Sharon Tate, fantastic alternate reality comeuppance, that Tarantino can do so well!

Yes didn’t seem dated at all that much. Some of the trap effects weren’t great but you can forgive it.
Same thing annoyed me that annoyed me way back when but it’s minor. And I suppose there wouldn’t be a movie without some drama.
well not so minor very annoying but I’ll let it off and it’s mostly right in the last scene.1) the doors make a loud noise when opening so how did the cop sneak in, drop down and murder that girl, 2) why were they just sat on the floor anyway. Get the f
k out the room. 3) how did the cop remove the handle without a spanner, use his teeth? 4) the room with the room length spikes would obviously need 14 feet plus at either side which there can’t be

I recorded “Heat” many moons ago, the cop, (Al Pacino) competing, and having mind games, with the lone wolf gangster, (de Niro).
<snip>
Pacino however, IMO, overacted to the extent that I was glad when he wasn’t in a scene.
I’m no qualified film critic, maybe others might think that he played his part well, but he did little for me.
A rewarding exercise is to catch Pacino's acting volte-face as gangster Tony Montana in Scarface. Over the top as detective in Heat, perfect in the opposing role in Scarface.<snip>

Baby Driver 9/10
I know I'm late to this, but I bloody loved it!
Not what I expected, brilliant camera work, and characters you can invest in. Am I still allowed to love Spacey? Because I do!

Like you say late, but any excuse for this trivia: The grabbing-coffee-walking-around-music-listening scene was done in one take.

The robbers shoot out scene is TV surround sound tester
The gun flight after the truck robbery is pure awesome. The robbers shoot out scene is TV surround sound tester
Agree Pacino overdoes it a bit, but the film overall, is fantastic.

OH is 15 years younger so I've spent the last 5 years making sure she has seen every important film she'd never heard of.
In prep for Last Blood...done all 4 Rambo's this week. She enjoyed them! Although glad there wheren't as many as Rocky last year!
It's only when you date someone not going to the movies in the 80's you realise what a massive gap they have in their appreciation of culturla refernces! They know stuff like movie quotes....but with no idea what the movie is! Or they know the character without ever having seen that film! ........or the very worst, they know De Niro, Hoffman, Pesci but from Meet the Fockers and Home Alone! (Which makes Goodfellas and Straw Dogs fun film nights in!)
