"Game of Thrones fans launch petition demanding season 8 remake, as the show about zombies, dragons and a boy who can turn into a pigeon has become a bit far-fetched of late".
According to this thread it was the Dothraki cavalry charge that made in unbelievable."Game of Thrones fans launch petition demanding season 8 remake, as the show about zombies, dragons and a boy who can turn into a pigeon has become a bit far-fetched of late".

Pretty much nails it."Game of Thrones fans launch petition demanding season 8 remake, as the show about zombies, dragons and a boy who can turn into a pigeon has become a bit far-fetched of late".
In a show where the main antagonist for multiple seasons was an undead ice king and the protagonists were a once-dead-but-revivied-called-a-bd-but-actually-the-son-of-a-king and his (unknown at the time) auntie who magically hatches dragons by walking into the funeral pyre of her dead husband (who as actually kinda zombified himself) people are now saying 'it's all gone wrong'

These two comments display a fundamental misunderstanding of what people were actually saying / commenting on. Or would you be happy with someone whipping out a heavy machine gun despite no evidence that such things exist in the GoT world, so long as there were lots of explosions and good CGI?

How is that even remotely comparable? But YEAH HYPERBOLE!!!Or would you be happy with someone whipping out a heavy machine gun despite no evidence that such things exist in the GoT world, so long as there were lots of explosions and good CGI?
But seriously, I get it, people are annoyed, whatever. Moaning and whinging won't change it, the story has been written, filmed, edited and done. Enjoy what we've got, savour the moments we've been given and get over it. Yes it has changed from earlier series, these things happen as shows get popular, budgets get bigger and so do expectations but people getting in a paddy over it is just straight up odd.

My favourite is the people I've spoken to who say 'ah but it's gone so far away from the books'
Well, yeah, no st
I haven't read the books but I know that the Night King isn't in it, Catelyn Stark comes back as an undead zombie hellbent on revenge who also strings up Podrick and Brienne + much more.
The books have been a base for the show since day 1, I haven't even read the books and even I know that it's not the exact same story.

When Alexander took Tyre after a hard fought siege he killed eight thousand and sold the rest of the cities inhabitants into slavery. They don't call him Alexander the mad, or Alexander the bit mental, but Alexander the Great.
In my opinion GRRM gave us a convincing betrayal of the mind of a would be conqueror. Part of that mind set would indeed be strong narcissistic tendencies and a sense of entitlement, whether that is "a bit mental" is a question of interpretation.
Hard fought siege doesn’t sound very similar to a reluctance to engage followed by a swift surrender to me. In my opinion GRRM gave us a convincing betrayal of the mind of a would be conqueror. If Robert Baratheon had been wearing his Ironman suit we'd have had like 3 episodes.
Would he just have died from the poison instead? Can't remember if that's a book detail or not, or what we do if it's in the books but not ruled out in the TV verion, does it count or not? Anyway, I thought the undertone was that Lancel got him pissed and a bit poisoned and the boar provided the alibi.paulrockliffe said:

Yeah, kept smashing him with fortified wine...so it's moider...in a sense....Big Bad Bobbie isn't gonna say no to wine, and if you keep supplying it while he's hunting a beast...wuuurrlll, things will happen. Sway said:
GRRM has said in his world, she's not fireproof. The example from the books is the dragon eggs - his argument is that the eggs absorbed the heat, protecting her.
I don't believe the other examples from the show exist yet in the books.
Pretty sure there's nothing in the lore regarding an immunity to flame, and remember the Targs weren't anything special in Valerya.
so what did she do at Drogo's pyre and the dothraki council house fire?I don't believe the other examples from the show exist yet in the books.
