One flew over the cuckoos nest

Bought it on DVD, but never really got into it that much, and fell asleep for about half an hour during it.

"The Village" - hyped as being M Shyamalans great film, was the biggest load of cack ever to hit the silver screen since "Cool as Ice". I'd rather remove my own liver with a teaspoon than sit through that load of predictable effluent again.

Reservoir Dogs

I really don't get the hype around that film. Seems to me it was just a 'trendy' film to like back in the 90's...
Victim of its own success, I think.
Not sure I agree there. Saw it at Whiteleys the week it came out and went along to see it because the poster looked good and had no idea about it apart from being about a diamond heist going wrong.

Wow! I walked out of the cinema with what seemed like springs on my feet, it totally blew me away, and was like nothing I'd ever seen before to come out of Hollywood. Even the gun-shots sounded different to anything beforehand. (Mr.Pink running down the road and shooting at the cops) Also loved the way it unfolded.

The last time I caught it on telly, it did seem somewhat dated or maybe I've seen so much since early 1993

I wouldn't say it was over-rated though.

I didn't think much of Bullitt when I finally saw it. Not sure that could exactly be described as overrated, though.

Was Wanted rated highly? That was incoherent garbage with an entirely unlikeable set of characters.

Prometheus - not bad as a generic sci-fi horror type thing, but doesn't really work to me as an Alien film, felt like a random mishmash of too many sci-fi horror clichés.
Bullit and Vanishing Point both disappointed despite being raved about as amongst the best car films ever made.

Yeah, I agree it's a great film. But how many mainstream cinema goers are going to notice things like the gun shots? Chances are everyone's heard it's the greatest film ever, and when they see it, and find a little indie film full of reference they'll never get, they'll likely be disappointed.

I'm not sh*tting on it - I just think most people will miss why it became so popular. And that's fine by me : )

I struggled through it, and nearly had a nervous breakdown at the end,

I really, really rate that film (films should make you 'feel') but I'm not sure I want to go through THAT much emotional trauma again.

For me personally I would say Anchorman! Like marmite, lots of people love it, I can't stand it.

Dinner for Schmucks is embarrassing only gets 5.9 on imdb though.
Twilight series? I'm embarrassed I've watched any of it.

Fanny and Alexander, by Ingmar Bergman. I cannot understand the 8.2 score on IMDB and how it won 4 Oscars? It's st.
