What car with what engine?
Discussion
and I always wanted to put a E9x s65 V8 engine

in a BMW Z1 , because the Z1 lump is mostly iron and heavy and just 170hp, that s65 V8 weights around the same, is shorter and more in balance.
At some point you could buy them (Z1) relatief cheap-ish from around 17k euro around 2013-15
sadly at the time I sold my Hartge, the prices for the cheap-ish Z1 almost doubled... so they became to expensive for such engine swap.

so, decided to look at a bit cheaper options, first a BMW 02 2002 with 2002 turbo fenders etc, but to much time/work if you have to have most of it made/done by professionals, such as strengthening and repairing the body and painting etc, of such an old BMW 2002.

or Alpina style-ish also lovely

However, I had already bought many parts such as engine and gearbox etc, so something had to be done ... so I bought a good Z3 roadster and put that car at the engine converter, and they built it in, made it work etc. and I did the rest myself to save some money and to make some things better.

they made a special aluminium air collector (also with 8 alu trumpets inside) with 2 big inlets on each side, so it all fitted better under the Z3 bonnet, I later had to change some things on that air collector, this is how it looks now (you see one side only in the picture), the car makes a sound like a e46 M3 CSL on steroids

My Mk1 Escort Race car is an engine swap car.
TVR AJP 4.7 V8.
Lighter than the original engine 450+bhp Just under 8000rpm
This equals fast and silly! Which equals fun!

I love this. About the only thing I’d sell my supercharged Monaro for: https://www.lsxmag.com/news/video-lq9-single-turbo...
