Life of Brian.

Like Fawlty Towers, you know the script inside out, but it still makes me laugh out loud.

Kingpin, by a country mile for me. Bill Murray, Woody Harrelson and Randy Quaid were all absolutely superb in it

I'm a sucker for old French films made by people such as Jacques Tati, like the sublime

and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mon_Oncle

also Jean Renoir's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boudu_Saved_from_Dro...

I state your name
Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son.
My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.
Mrs. Wormer, I'm so glad you could come
I suspect that there are various scenes that wouldn't make it if made today

or Where's that Fire .............. Will Hay 1939
An amazing set piece installing a new firemans pole into the out-dated fire station which lasts nearly 12 minutes.
All the favourites, Moore Marriot, Graham Moffatt and Charles Hawtrey as an annoying schoolboy reciting Pythagoras theorem explaining the pole won't fit as it scrapes the paint off a passing car !

Some funny films already been listed, but Smokey and the bandit 1/2, Cannonball Run and Airplane are all top tier for me.

Are we all just old or are the newer films not as funny anymore?

Think even one of the more recent film mentioned, the Hangover, must be 10 years old now.

Loads of the previous suggestions, especially Local Hero and the Death of Stalin but I'll just add a largely forgotten gem - 'Heavens Above', staring Peter Sellers as an idealistic priest that tries to get his parish to live by christian values... it doesn't go well.

Lots already mentioned, but Stripes was a good laugh, John Candy mud wrestling women was one of the highlights.
