Why not do one better and connect via a chain and sprocket from the Hamsters wheel in the cage to the wheels of the car.
Could be onto something there - hybrid power without heavy and environmentally damaging batteries! scratchchin
It is an MX-5 is it not? Raise the cage enough that just the top of the wheel is in the slipstream above the windscreen. No need to rig up a cumbersome mechanical drive when wind power will do!

Mind you, if you do add a chain drive, make sure it's in the correct sense so that the airflow over the hamster's wheel serves to propel the car a la hybrid perpetual motion machine. 50 miles on hamster power alone, infinite miles on wind power. And if you feed the hamster beans, you may even have a surplus of power!

I remember courting my wife a few decades ago. She had a hamster. They are useless creatures that are noisy at night and sleep all day. They will try to bite at every opportunity and pee in jam jars in their cage. Thankfully they don't last very long - a couple of years.

The hamster had a stroke one night and my beloved insisted we take it to the vet rather than putting it out of its misery. The vet listened carefully, managed not to laugh when my lady asked what treatments were available, met my rolling eyes with a steady, understanding look, and gave it an injection to speed it on its way to the choir immortal. It cost me a few quid but was worth it to have the decision taken by someone else.
We had one and the damned thing popped its clogs whilst we were away for the weekend, her mother was looking after it - by that point it looked rotten though, it aged dramatically in a short space of time, no surprise there I guess.

Agreed on the noise at night thing too, the bd wheel going round and round..... grumpy

Sounds like a classic road trip. The Blues Brothers. Midnight Run. That kind of thing.

Classic bonding opportunity. Initial distrust. A few mad japes along the way, chased out of biker bars, mad scrapes and arrive in Spain with a new round respect for each other.

It's not as if hamster , if it survives the journey , is going to care about being reunited with girlfriend .

Same cage and wheel , different country .

A cat or dog would at least show some affection to her .

Seems like a fools errand .

When I was much much younger I worked in an engineering environment with a typical rough arse bunch of guys and I always remember one of them telling me "f4nny will draw you further than gunpowder will blow you" and judging by this thread, it's absolutely true!!! biglaughbiggrinbiggrin
Or as one of my previous bosses used to put it " The pulling power of pussy"

The same guy insisted all potential female employees had to pass the elbow test.

With enough of those plastic tubes and the legendary helpfulness of the French, couldn't the little guy make his own way there?

That’s easy.

“Surprise! I have your Hamster and the Paracetamol for your headache!”
“But I don’t have a headache?!”
“Perfect” *unzips trousers*

I find it slightly odd that the OP has vanished.

Why start a thread if you aren't going to come back to it?
