RE: 2023 Alpina B5 GT | PH Review
Discussion
Have we salivated enough over this piece of metal? I'd like to draw upon the comment within final paragraph that the perforance has all but been extracted from an ICE, suggesting we can make further incremental gains in regard to EV's. So do we plan on going backwards as opposed to forwards?, as am unsure if we need to reach 60 any quicker than 3.2secs. Equally, I don't believe we need to be travelling any quicker than 204/205mph! This is all being spouted from me, an owner of an Alpina!
Not another nice car in primer f

I’ll have a B3 in Alpina Blau Metallic with Ivory White interior, thank you very much. This is both too big and heavy. And expensive. Not that I could afford either anyway.

Just finished on the Alpina Configurator with a price of £150,405 for my spec B5GT Touring.
Using the thisismoney historic inflation calculator my 2001 Alpina B10 V8 Touring which cost c£74,000 then, would be £148, 248 today, and my 1995 Alpina B10 4.6 Touring which cost c£70,000 then, would be £165,645 today, so not too far out.

If there were any left, I’d probably have been on the blower ton Sytner by now. I’ll definitely be talking to them well in advance of the “last ever” version of the B5.
And this one doesn’t have black wheels! Hurrah!
Sytner Nottingham are the importer. It's entirely possible (and probably likely) that they themselves have ordered one or more for stock. If you genuinely want one, I'd give them a bell. And this one doesn’t have black wheels! Hurrah!
Subtly cool. Love the bronze wheels but over 2 tons?
This looks so good.

Lovely lovely car! Curious why the leather in all the photos looks rather cheap, when Alpina is renowned for its lavalina leather, which is a step above the BMW merino one?
I’ve just taken delivery of a B5 Touring (not GT). The lavalina is a mega expensive option (£10k ish I think). It needs the lavalina steering wheel. The “standard” leather is really nice. It doesn’t photograph well in black I think? Mine is white with black highlights. No jeans ! I didn’t test drive and I’ve never owned M cars. I’ve had some amazing cars over the years, big statement; I never want to drive anything other than my B5 again !! It’s totally amazing and you can’t explain why . Delivered with 7 miles , at 39 miles my cheeks were hurting from smiling . Bentley , Aston, 911’s (Inc 992 GTS), Maclaren, 7’s, RS6, AMG, - none of them can compare to the overall joy of getting behind the wheel of this thing ! If you get an opportunity just grab it!!McGee_22 said:

It's all I can do to use the configurator - I won't ever be able to afford any new car let alone a new B5GT Touring

There are two “regular” B5 touring new cars listed. Blue , not huge spec and Frozen black decent spec. Go on. You know you want to! Sytner Nottingham, Gary Lott is your man . I’m not on commission! Amazing car and it was easy to deal with them. More of an event than a purchase
