Interesting that the same power as the M but more torque.

Why that's interesting is because the torque is higher all the way up the rev range. Power = Torque* RPM (/5252 if imperial).

So that means it makes more power than the M throughout the rev range. They're just not allowed to say it does.

All Alpinas do this. IYKYK. wink
Presumably the rev range of the M6 is much greater than the B6 with its peak power being developed at 7750rpm, rather than 5500 for the B6? And that's how the M6 makes its power, by revving harder than the B6 while continuing to produce significant amounts of torque.

People on here need their eyes checked - this disjointed Kardashian arsed monstrosity of a car has dated horribly and pales in comparison to the F13 that came after it; no amount of Alpine additives will make the E-series look better (the car in this article also has that most unlikeable German Wood effect interior).

In fact, BMW clearly seems to think highly enough of the F13 that they essentially modernised/updated it with that limited edition Skytop that everyone is saying is a return to design form for them.

Of course, watching a YouTube video of someone buying the cheapest worst example of a model is always a good way to gain insight into said model. Actual owners of these cars may have a different view, you know in the real world!
Yeeahhh. Very much not just 1 vid. And not just 1 ownership perspective either. I assume you've never watched any M539 vids with a comment like that.

The best thing Alpina did was sort the ride height. As a 630i owner - the ride height is the worst part of it visually.

Well built cars but not BMWs finest hour when it came to big (V8) engines.

I've grown to like the looks of the E63, but just can't abide the multi-spoke wheels and Halfords stickers on Alpinas!

Despite the SMG issues I wouldn't even consider a forced induction V8 when there is a screaming V10 alternative - M6 all the way for me. biggrin

I've always liked the idea of an Alpina, never managed to scratch that itch, anyone know if the M6 v10 had a bigger fuel tank than the M5 v10, I can live with poor economy but couldn't live with the size of the fuel tank & range, used to average 150 - 170 miles on a tank in the v10 M5, just made real world living a ball ache
Looks like both are 70 litre tanks.
Definitely not big enough for a daily delivering @ 10 - 13 mpg, I daily everything from 991 turbo's to R8 v10's, averaging 20k miles per year, the v10 M5 was a nightmare, every other day in a petrol station, any +250 mile journeys always involved an extra stop

As mentioned on here already, the F13 looks better than the E63.

I also find it very interesting that literally no-one has commented negatively on the blacked out rear glass of the car listed for sale; I really believe that people on here who complain about darkened rear glass are full of it as they can't find anything else to say about newer cars having that as standard so roll out tired tropes about gangsters, drug dealers and rappers.

That fake wood is horrible.
Not fake wood, bit of a classic ALPINA hallmark on the older/classic cars. Admittedly it divides opinion a lot with 99% of modern ALPINA coming with piano black inlays.

I used to get 130 miles to a tank when having fun, but could get near 300 on a careful run. Which I never did.....

Great fun, but compromised as a GT due to the tank size.

I would love one, and I'm a fan - but I'm also an owner of one of these big ugly E63s. I think the LCI improved things though, I will admit. They're well built cars as others have said, mines 15 years old and feels completely solid, but they were very expensive new so it's expected.

I think at this price level I'd be going for the M6 though - the V8s can be needy, and Stretens videos on this engine are scary. I think they're leaky but tough in non-supercharged format, but his Alpina engine had I think lots of bore scoring issues?

I don’t like tints on anything, but a lot of Japanese imports seem to come with it.

It would be first thing I would want to change on this E63.

There are some guys on YouTube who fitted a similar type of bolt on supercharger kit to a 645i. It's not the best quality in terms of content creation but shows what's possible with a standard car. Obviously Alpina tweak a few more things but not much. Personally I think the Alpina rear spoiler ruins the standard car. There was an Alpina 6er on car and classic recently with some weird carbon bonnet full of scoops which I thought looked like a school project - ie rubbish. Found it -

That's an even rarer B6S, the carbon fibre bonnet was unique to this model. This particular car also has the very special Lavalina II interior, where every surface is trimmed in the very best leather.
Special car that.

This is what that bonnet on the B6s looks like from underneath, not a DIY job for sure.

This era of 6 series always reminds me of that episode of Top Gear with the stig hooning an M6 around the Isle of Man. Despite torrential rain he was absolutely caning it.
