Cheers, yeah I am. I'll wait until it's healed and settled but I may get the darker feathers darkened a little further to add contrast from the lighter ones but other than that, it's bang on what I wanted. Toying with a couple of other ideas for more, it really is addictive!

Just messaged a tattoo artist about refreshing mine, I had it done 25 or so years ago and it's lost its colour and definition. I was shocked when I saw a picture of it, it used to be so vibrant.

The only one I have at the moment but I have also asked about getting 2 more that I have wanted for a while but never got round to doing anything about it.

The reason for this sudden change ? Well, I was talking to an 80 year old relative earlier and she's on about getting one done 😁

Looks great, for some reason I sort of thought that the plumage would be more colourful though. Don't know much about birds so maybe that is their colour!

Thanks! The birds in this sort of design are usually Red Crowned Cranes, native to East Asian countries. Other than the deep red crowns they're fairly monochrome.

Ive been offered a free session to do a bit more to my leg as she's got a new machine she wants some practice on and its better for solid work or something.

Of course ive said yes, but it feels a cheeky to not pay anything for a day session!

Day rates are normally £450.

What would you pay? Normally I'd be they've offered it for free i won't pay anything, but she's brilliant and it feels cheeky!

I'm from Yorkshire if someone offers me something for free I'm biting their hand off at the wrist!

However if you wanted to pay something I'd say 150 sounds fair in this situation

Your skin is priceless, if she has said free as she wants to practise she has chosen you for a reason. Make the most of the offer...but perhaps bring a small gift you know she will appreciate

Expected her to be quite stuck up etc, but turns out shes really nice and talkative.

I used Tattoo Goo, I got the box set from Superdrug - has a balm, a cleanser and a moisturiser. I mostly just used the cleanser and let it dry-heal for the first few days, then started using the moisturiser when it started to get itchy.

Oh, I thought the balm was meant for the first few days? I never used it cos my artist said I should just wash it and leave it to dry-heal to start with. I may be going for some more work soon so will bear that in mind.

Probably a bit late now but the fella who did mine uses second skin rather than balm, latest approach is to wrap in clingfilm for a few hours, wash with just water and then apply second skin for about 5 days. When it comes off, you just have like post sunburn peeling so a day or two of normal moisturiser and it's healed up. Worked well for my sessions, but applying second skin isn't always that easy if doing it yourself!
