Last Vegas.
Four icons, nice story, nice themes.

I know I'm late to the party but just watched 6 Underground.

WTF was that.

Film some good action scenes
But of comedy
Big name star

Going well. Now let's get a 6 year old to edit it together. Does it make sense? Does it fk.

Finally saw Ford vs Ferrari (aka Le Mans ‘66), and loved it. The cars look fantastic (replicas or not) and I seriously want Shelby’s Cobra.

Well I was looking forward to seeing The Lighthouse, but as it's only on in about 15 cinemas in the country between Odeon, Vue and Cineworld, and half of those are in London, it looks like I'll be waiting for it on Prime/Netflix/NowTV or DVD/Blu-ray frown . Unless it does eventually get a general release.
Lucky for me it's on in Bath so I'm going on Sunday, pretty sure the release isnt going any wider.

On the plus side, Parasite gets a full nationwide release next week apparently.

The Hateful Eight.

2nd viewing.... 1st watched when it came out.

Standard Tarantino. Gloriously violent, brilliant script, well acted by a typical Tarantino cast.

Not unlike Reservoir Dogs. Loved it.

Joker

Really interesting film.

Not sure what I think about them making him sympathetic and rich deserve to be killed.

Bit too 6th form politics.

Performance was excellent like how it tied in to batman but doesn’t seem to fit with any of the movies.

Why is Batman’s dad evil white nasty male all of a sudden?

JoJo Rabbit

My American brothers and Sisters loved it. Has been out a while and got a rousing applause at the end. And that is a huge endorsement from a culture that hates any film without a saccharine ending. Tbf it was a kiwi director who also did The Wilderpeople.

10 out of 10 antipodean director/actors

Can't wait to see this again and will be great on the big screen.

A superb and highly recommended 10/10 movie.

Well it looks like at least Cineworld will be doing a wider showing next week.

Joker

Really well made and acted film but struggled with the politics and a bit silly in places.

7.5/10

Knives Out

I've always enjoyed a good whodunnit and had heard good things. First half was enjoyable but unfortunately found it then descended into a contrived mess that wasn't nearly as clever as it thought it was.

5/10

Just noticed that "Hidden Figures" is on CH4 tonight at 9pm.

Based on the positive feedback I read on here, I give it a watch smile

That's probably one of the reasons why it failed at the box office. But in truth it's a masterclass in cinematography, in more ways than one.

It was one of those films that the whole room just sat in silence for a few minutes after it ended. Stunning in a literal sense.
