Hurry before spotify snowflakes demand it be pulled down
I've tended to watch/ listen to a few of them with comedians/ musicians, rather than an avid follower I'll more likely just watch if it's someone I'm interested in.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdVso9FSkmE

However from what he'd been speaking about in the one with Bill Burr and the details on why he was going with Spotify, keeping control of it etc, I almost wouldn't be too surprised if he's just seeing how far he can push his luck early on, especially with some of the fuss it's kicked up.
If it gets to the point where Spotify don't want to support this show they've paid a massive amount of money to support, is he just back to doing what he was doing anyway with an extra chunk of money in the bank?

It'll definitely be interesting to see how his Spotify relationship plays out... Listened to the whole thing, sounds like a big middle finger up from Joe Rogan to the spotify snowflakes with a mild compromise of "I promise to check every mental thing he says during the show". Fact checks turn up a source for pretty much everything! Not that it's true, but that there is a source, which is good enough for me; if I want more information to make up my own mind I'll read the source.
AJ was clearly getting pretty pissed towards the end.

The masterstroke was the fact checking. Not that the people who screech about Jones and Rogan would even watch the podcast in the first place.AJ was clearly getting pretty pissed towards the end.
Watched some of it on YouTube and switched off after a while. Even Joe looked to be frustrated at points with him going off on ridiculous tangents haha.
But it's his show. No one has to like anyone he puts on it.
Anyone who worries about what guests a comedian puts on his podcast is taking life far too seriously.

So has moving to Spotify impacted how anybody here listens to the Rogan podcast?
I find having it in another app to all my other podcasts means I'm less inclined to listen to it, and I've quite a few I could go back to listen to now -- they've backed up on me in recent months.
The fact that the Spotify app is pants for managing and navigating podcasts doesn't help either, of course. It never bothered me when sticking on a music playlist, or just firing on some background music, but it is absolute rubbish at managing podcasts compared to most other podcast apps.
I noticed a 12 minute clip from the Musk episode (1609) appearing in my regular podcast app in recent days. The accompanying text obviously suggested listening to the full podcast on Spotify if you wanted to hear more. That's the first time I'd noticed a clip being released openly to promote the podcast on Spotify. They've continued releasing clips on the YouTube JRE Clips channel to promote the podcast, but this was the first time I noticed an audio only podcast clip being released to promote the show.

I also don’t want to have to download video. It’s minor given modern bandwidth, but I never watch the podcast I only listen. There should be an option of just getting the audio.
ah, I thought I was just being a ditz, wouldn't have thought they were that stupid they'd force everyone to download video, how crude is that?
And yeh, all my podcasts except one on an app, I find myself inadvertently ignoring it now even though I have premium cos the mrs has it anyway.

Yeah, I’m experiencing the same. I’m so used to the Apple podcasts app automatically downloading and deleting once listened to, that the Spotify app is a pain in the arse. It’s simple functionality of every podcast app since the dawn of time.
But it’s obvious why they’re doing it. It’s to get you to sign up to a premium sub. That gets you auto downloads and app notifications.

I agree that the spotify app is rubbish. I use AntennaPod, so simple to use.But it’s obvious why they’re doing it. It’s to get you to sign up to a premium sub. That gets you auto downloads and app notifications.

But, there is an option to download audio only. But if I want to listen (I very rarely watch podcasts) while online the app then wants to stream the video also.

I haven’t listened to a single podcast since the move to Spotify.
I also unsubscribed from the YouTube channel just before too (unconnected) so have not idea of who has been on or what has happened.
I’d not thought about it once until this thread reappeared!
Me too, I have a premium spotify sub but just can't be bothered when I have many podcasts lined up in my usual app. I now don't listen out of principle which is probably stupid.I also unsubscribed from the YouTube channel just before too (unconnected) so have not idea of who has been on or what has happened.

I presume now he is paid buy spotify he no longer has 8 minutes of adverts at the start?

Yup I didn't think it would stop me but I actually haven't watched a single episode, I even have a full Spotify subscription! I've always listened to the podcast whilst working so I'd have youtube on one monitor and my work on my other monitors. Spotify is just so I don't have to listen to awful music from the radio. I can't seem to kick that habit. I still watch the JRE clips posted on Youtube.I find having it in another app to all my other podcasts means I'm less inclined to listen to it, and I've quite a few I could go back to listen to now -- they've backed up on me in recent months.
