It's not going to pass Avatar now. $16m globally this weekend but still $75m shy of Avatar. All the releases this summer have overwhelmed it and it's dropped off faster than other MCU films (but obviously it went ballistic in two weeks to get here in the first place).

Saw that earlier. Shame. Although Avatar did have multiple releases.

Maybe it will get another release, but I suspect not. Still a mighty achievement.

I can see it getting another release. Russos have been pushing multiple viewings for various reasons (whilst not mentioning the box office once) on insta/twiter. They've had some fairly amusing posts. They know their close. And next year MCU has only one film out.
I reckon an IW/EG double bill, and maybe a tweaked scene.

Re-releases don't tend to form part of the official schedule. They have two on the announced list for 2020, although they are called 'Untitled Marvel' so some could be standalone non MCU movies, seems unlikely though as they've specifically singled out the Fox release.

Apr 3rd 2020 (Fox, New Mutants)
May 1st 2020 (Disney Marvel)
Nov 6th 2020 (Disney Marvel)

Feb 12th 2021 (Disney Marvel)
May 7th 2021 (Disney Marvel)
Nov 5th 2021(Disney Marvel)

Feb 18th 2022 (Disney Marvel)
May 6th 2022 (Disney Marvel)
July 29th 2022 (Disney Marvel)

Black Widow is filming in Norway now so likely to be the May 2020 release. I think The Eternals, Black Panther 2, Dr Strange 2 and GOTG 3 are the only known certainties at this point, and GOTG 3 won't go into production for at least a year.

I can't recall now but I think the original schedule was for GotG3 to be next year but the thing over Gunn has now delayed that. MCU have been doing three a year for a while and with only BW out next year...possibly Eternals. My thinking was that a possible release double bill would be worked in. BUt then it depends on what Disney want, and their sheet is crowded as it is.

They really want that record....

To be fair Avatar did the same thing if I remember correctly. Already did my bit and went to see it one final time last weekend.

Apparently it’s just an end credits scene.

I’ve seen it twice. Won’t be going again.

This is different (and still won't get them near the record) as the film is still on general release, so not a re-release as with Titanic and Avatar. A proper re-release years later doesn't even generate the sums needed to push Endgame over the line, so this certainly won't.

Captain Marvel had screens added towards the release of Endgame and this is the same for Far From Home. Yes that's a Sony release, but it's still MCU and a direct sequel.

I actually enjoyed it a lot more the second time. Caught a lot more bit and pieces and felt the ending a lot more knowing what was coming...

Cool. I wanted to go see a 3rd time for my birthday this weekend but Toy Story 4 has about 4 screens at the massive Odeon and no room for any endgame screenings.

Me too. I want my next viewing to be a home viewing.

I'm pretty sure it's not this weekend, it doesn't appear to have had an increase in screens just yet. It might not even be in the UK, I assume it would need a new BBFC certification but I can't see one.

So final release later this week, directors intro, new Far From Home sneak peak and a deleted scene. 7 minutes longer in total.

7 minutes is quite a lot. I’m surprised.

Still not going to bother with a second round though personally. Can wait for the digital release.

I’m going to see it on Sunday.

We all have to do our bit to get it ahead of Avatar...

So the UK is getting it too?...
...I might watch it...just watched a yt video which says there is one fairly big something/watever/can'trecallword in the new spidey film. I'd like to experience that before I read it, so I'll probably end up watching spidey at the flicks...dammit, this spoiler thing has pout an end to my watching a film 2 weeks after it's out.

My cinema are only showing it 8pm on Friday and Sunday. I want to go again and my daughter is desperate. Looks like a late night for her.

My Odeon just has the one screening before the midnight screening of Spiderman on the 1st July. I might go, 4th times a charm!

7 minutes probably includes the intro etc and I understand the other bits are after the credits.

That’s a very compelling argument for me to see it a third time.
