Difference is...
The voice recognition actually works?

<dictate reply clearly as everyone stares at you>
Sony Smartwatch 3 is on sale at Very for £89.99, with 20% off the first credit account order, so it would be about £75 with delivery. I'm twitching over whether to get it or not. I'm not sure though because I'm generally being indecisive, its not a round one (which I'd prefer), and its CES next week so there might be more offers once some new watches get announced or released.
Arghhh.
Arghhh.
While I'm waiting for my Smartwatch 3 to arrive, a few noob questions.
The watch has WiFi, does it pick up the WiFi log in and password settings from the phone, or do I have to sign the watch in?
What's the standard rubber strap like? I'm thinking of giving that Shapeways 3D printed strap adapter a go if the rubber one isn't too good.

I don't think it does have wifi. It connects to your phone via bluetooth and then piggybacks your phone's wifi. The watch has WiFi, does it pick up the WiFi log in and password settings from the phone, or do I have to sign the watch in?

Oh, and the rubber strap is the work of the devil. It picks up every bit of lint it possibly can.

My Huawei Watch connects to wifi on it's own.Oh, and the rubber strap is the work of the devil. It picks up every bit of lint it possibly can.

That's wonderful. Accept he hasn't got a Huawei...
Sorry, I thought you were referring to smartwatches in general. I was pointing out that some do have WiFi, and he claims that his watch has wifi in his original post so...The SW3 has Wifi inbuilt and connects automatically via Android Wear
I'll be interested to see how you get on, I sent mine back.
Main Reasons
Battery Life - Claimed 2-3 days, I could JUST get 2 out of it, if I hardly touched it
Usage - once you have got over the initial excitement of receiving notifications such as WhatsApp on the watch, it became a bit useless. Replying on the watch is pointless, if you are active in groups on WhatsApp and get lots of notifications it batters the battery life, so you turn them off and end up with just a digital watch with 1.5 days of battery life
Sleep Tracking - My wife has the SWR10 smartband which did sleep tracking via Lifelog, the watch does not have this functionality
I've now got a Fitbit as I realised the step counting, heartrate and sleep tracking was what interested me more

Pretty obvious, though. I only use them for text and phone notifications. Everything else is unimportant/low priority. All my clients and business associates phone or text. They do not post work-related stuff on my Facebook etc.So, for notification of texts and missed calls, I find the SW2 fantastic. I was going to sell it after a couple of weeks but having used it just for this and nothing else, on this basis alone I'm keeping the SW2.
Oh, I did plan to use it for controlling music on the phone but the free apps don't allow you to select playlists so one minute you're playing a high intensity tune in a fitness class and the next it's jumping to a chill out tune. Bit s

the standard strap is ok for the gym but as has been mentioned it collects dust easily although if you wash it with soap it gets less sticky. I bought the official strap adaptor from ebay and it is great. I now have a few NATO straps which each cost a few £££ and regularly swap them out.Hoofy said:

You can refund any app within 15 minutes, enough to give it a quick go. I've done it several times with watch faces that looked nice in the screenshots but did't translate well on the watch.
