I've been playing around with Bloody Marys and gone for a South-East Asian theme:
Vodka
Tomato juice
Sriracha chilli sauce
Fish sauce - sounds gross but it's great as a Worcestershire alternative
Lime juice
Coriander stalks to garnish
Next up is to try it with a rapid infusion ginger vodka!

Can't believe we have got to page five without reference to the King of cocktails - the Dark 'n Stormy.
This is the national cocktail of Bermuda. Introduced to me by the 1st Mrs Clapham, who's mother was brought up there. The only good thing she ever gave me and the most refreshing drink of all time

Right here are the Bloody Mary recipes I'm looking to do this evening:
https://www.liquor.com/recipes/bloody-bulldog/
I think I have bulldog gin, if not I've heaps of others.
Interested to see how the balsamic vinegar and crushed garlic work out.
https://www.liquor.com/recipes/bloody-caesar/
or not really as I don't have clamato juice (only tomato juice) or horseradish.
So not this one at all really, it'll just be standard one
https://www.liquor.com/recipes/red-snapper/
another gin variant - but no garlic or balsamic this time
https://www.liquor.com/recipes/bloody-maria/
And an a tequila based on as recommended above.
I'll update throughout the evening whilst I still have the use of my eyes.
Also, I think I'm going to need more tomato juice.

Currently aging the Dishoom Viceroy's Old Fashioned.
5 months and counting, very interesting, if you cant track down the recipe online I'll dig it out later, but it involves a green tea reduction and aging for at least a month.
Sounds odd, but its pretty amazing.
I've had a hunt around and have found a few variations on this. Interested in the recipe you're using if you have it to hand, please? 5 months and counting, very interesting, if you cant track down the recipe online I'll dig it out later, but it involves a green tea reduction and aging for at least a month.

My wife is a big Bloody Mary fan and she likes the Cajun Mary’s they serve in New Orleans. Her favourite bar sticks a dash of beer in as the last ingredient and she swears by it! The pickled green beans they put in as a garnish are a nice snack too, I’ve made some but out there they tend to use Tabasco branded ones which are great.

The Cajun Mary is deeply addictive, and a great way to ease into a day in NO!Johnnytheboy said:
Really, really nice... and I don't like Vermouth!
I made a Manhattan last night. Turns out I don't like Vermouth. Annoyed, bought Campari and Vermouth to make Negronis for the Mrs and turns out she doesn't like them. Oh well, everyone needs a couple of bottles that sit for a few decades and only come out when someone who likes a campari and lemonade shows up.Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
