Which "modern" cars rust badly?

The few Nissan's we've had love to rust around the arches, sills etc
I'd second this, the sills in most of the bubble shaped Micras start to go, although not usually until they are about 12 years old which is acceptable on what was a cheap runabout.Honda Civic's - EG and EK shapes.
They all suffer badly on the back arches and the sills.
My MK2 golf has gone in the usual place of the filler cap - having a look underneith its no surprise, no inner arch liners allows mud to sit up there and rot the car inside out. Surprisingly enough the rest of the car is solid.

Agree regarding Ford KAs. Wife's Sportka is starting in the sill area, especially where the inner sills meet the floorpan. Our local MOT man has written off several KAs from this. The car is an 04 reg. My Rover Feb 2002 Rover 45 is rust-free save for the diagonal fold-over seams at the front of the floor - just some surface in the edge over about 6" each side which I've cleaned off and treated. But there is no rot anywhere - none at all. I know some older 400s rusted at the rear arches but this 45 is like it was brand new underneath. So I'll keep it for now! So it's a Rover - so what, it isn't going to fall apart under me. Some cars at only a few years old are frightening - is this the real throw-away society now?

Any pics/examples. Im kind of keen on a Ka as a runaround/second car now. However is there preventative work that you can carry out to avoid the rust starting? Pete

so what we are saying here is basically all cars rust?!
Agree. On the Ka's - yes OLDER ones rust around the fuel cap....but the key word is older. According to one review - the sill rust is confined to older Ka's and Ford have a 6yr anti-perforation- warranty anyway????
a colleagues Audi A6 rust all over the boot lid and front arches etc etc

Fords, never seem to have solved it.
My Mk1 Mondeo has just started to rust on the rear arches-not bad for 14 years old. They then went onto clinched flange design which had lots of problems early on & would rust after 2-3 years!! IIRC the same issue that Mercedes had.hora said:

My e46 M3 53 plate was forming rust bubbles in the top of the door panels under the wing mirrors back in 2007.
Was gutting as the rest of the car was immaculate.
Paint on the alloy's on BMW's tend to peel on the inside after 2-3 years (I'm sad and clean the inside of the wheel as well). All my BMW's have had this happen including M3, M3 CSL and 6 Series

I have seen some though that are shocking.
