You... get out... now!

(beats moonrise kingdom and darjeeling and life aquatic, on a par with RT and FMF)
hehe

MK is good, I liked LA, FMF is my fave and is great. I've forgotten RT but do recall really liking it, I'll have to rewatch when it's on.
Darjeeling is ok
Never seen Rushmore.
I had to go look and remind myself of his filmography.

I am really looking forward to Isle of Dogs

I normally enjoy Wes Anderson, but never really got into this story. I did enjoy it, but not like earlier efforts.
Loved that film! Was great on the big screen.

I may have accidentally stumbled into a showing of Daddy's Home 2 the other night. It wasn't as bad as I expected which the type of review that filmmakers aim for...
Anyway, Lithgow was Lithgow and I'm alright with that. thumbup

didn't realise he was doing another stop-motion animation - if its anything like Mr Fox it will be brilliant

Life Aquatic is my mates favourite movie, despite loving Wes for his style and weirdness this one was just a weird too far for me - not sure why

Our daughter wanted to see National Lampoon's European vacation and so we did, please don't judge me!

Although relatively humorous at the time of making it hasn't faired well although did bring a smile to my lips on several occasions.

Good to see Eric idle playing a small part in this American farce, mad as usual and how he should be .

For a family type film our daughter was disgusted in an early part of the film where the gameshow host of about 50 years of age snogged the Griswold daughter, (of about 14 years of age) as well as the plentiful sexual innuendos!
I suppose it was a bit like an American Carry On film................

Dare I rate it? 6/10 tongue in cheek.

Brawl on cell block 99

Brain out watching. Enjoyable but I think the missus wasn't as impressed as me.

6/10

Body of Lies 8/10

From way back in 2008, which is a fairly long time ago, but the story seems like it could set today.

Lots of gritty action, good story, good acting what’s not to like.

Thor:Ragnarok

Overall an ok addition to the Marvel milieu. Thought it tried to be too funny though.

Did anyone else spot a Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency reference? Or just a coincidence?

Rush has just been on More 4. I still think it trite in parts and Hunt could be a bit more accurate from even my dim memories, but as a dramatisation of an exceptional championship I think it is probably the best motorsport movie made to date.

I worked on some of the cars in that film. The company i worked for built the McLaren and Brabham replica's used and we also provided the real McLaren, Tyrrell and March cars.

It's a pretty decent film when you get past the more personality based Hollywood aspect, they worked hard to get a proper sense of the cars and spent time with us at the race meetings to get the sound right, rigging up the cars with lots of mic's for post production sampling.

It's taken me a few watches to stop seeing all the details that show when its a replica and when its the real thing in shot and just watch it as a film. biggrin

My favourite part is at the start of the Fuji race where you see all the energy unleashed in the cars in slow motion, that's pretty cool.

Django unchained was a bit of an ordeal to watch over two and a half hours so I did it over two nights. Plenty of blood and guts on show and some big names on screen but overall a bit ...meh!!.

Personal Shopper

I really didn't like Kirsten Stewart previously but she's great in this as a medium trying to contact her dead twin brother. Psychological, creepy, complex film which leaves a lot open to interpretation. I really enjoyed it. On Amazon Prime for free if you've got it. 8/10

Thor - Ragnarok

Super entertaining for me with a lot of genuine funny scenes and lines. Made me laugh more than any comedy I've seen in years. Enjoyed the new characters and Chris Hemsworth is always great. 9/10

Rogue One

Only the second time I've watched this (first was at the cinema) and I still really enjoyed it. Far from perfect but I love the more adult feel with slightly harsher deaths and a theme of sacrifice all the way through. It builds well, has some cool new worlds and gets a bit emotional towards the end (the droids death possible the most emotional!). I think it's a fairly solid Star Wars film. 7.5/10

Dark Shadows.
What an interesting lil film, funny and refreshing. Made me read up on the series.
This should get a sequel or the series a remake.

Justice league. It was actually quite enjoyable to a point and you could really tell it had been butchered to reduce the running time. A directors or extended edition would likely be better. Although everyone knew, they didn't even keep it a secret in the titles and actors list at the beginning.
