Sorry to hear you have left Matthewsons Sarah. I thought you added some humour to the programme. All the best for your future.??
Thanks for the kind words - wishing you all the best.Red9zero said:

One for Mumblesboy, can you ask whoever does the stuff on the app to set the advertising to play in natural breaks in the show, it’s edited for adverts so rather than just randomly spaced in the middle of talking use those breaks.

I will pass that on to someone as I can imagine that is irritating, especially as finding the right structure to build up the parts to a natural breakpoint is harder than you might think.
I’m sure you know that’s a channel thing and beyond what I have any influence over but I will pass it on.

I can imagine a lot of work goes into editing the shows together. Just seems odd that whoever deals with the on demand stuff doesn’t appear to care where the advertisements are placed. I’m sure you know that’s a channel thing and beyond what I have any influence over but I will pass it on.
Unless it’s to stop people ripping episodes cleanly. Like when they would play a jingle mid way through the number one record on the top 40

Another one for Mumbles Boy, I’ve been watching the older episodes and was thinking how about a catch up on some of the more significant cars that went through the auction? I know you follow some of the cars into restoration, but was thinking of the bigger jobs.
in particular the Cooper S that was almost more fresh air and rust than car, the Escort 2 door assuming it did get restored or converted into a rally car (which is what I thought would happen to it first time round, hence the dearth of 2 door Escorts). I guess you could have a catch up episode at the end of each series if you get recommissioned for more, or 5 mins at the end of each episode.
The DB5, 240/260Z, etc. might be a bit too recent in terms of finished, but ripe for a filmed catch up.
There is a plan, and it’s underway. in particular the Cooper S that was almost more fresh air and rust than car, the Escort 2 door assuming it did get restored or converted into a rally car (which is what I thought would happen to it first time round, hence the dearth of 2 door Escorts). I’m sure as the many of you who have taken on car restorations - me included, will testify to, we will go on about endlessly about our changing plans and timescale. Don’t hold me to any dates, but there is a plan...
...and the Cooper S is leading the pack.

Great programme. Spent Christmas Day night watching some old episodes and enjoying the new series on Thursday nights. Sorry to see that Sarah has left. She was very much an integral part of the show.
That is a nice image. Thanks. On the subject of Coopers, I’m hoping to catch up on The Italian Job later, I’ve only seen it half a dozen times before.

I did too. I don't usually go for the older stuff but the Singer was lovely in profile. Long bonnet, small cabin at the rear....
It was a lovely thing, much like a baby Bugatti of yesteryear. Was my favourite car in the programme.RATATTAK said:

That MG YA had more money spent than it was worth. But the colours! Respray by "We saw you coming bodyshop". Probably using up spare greens they had left over from a fire sale.
I remember that as a standard two-tone for the YA.I loved it - think it is Shires Green, as used on T series a lot I think.
The two-tone ones look great as well, I have in my head the doors only in a beige colour - the rest, Shires green.
I was really very pleased for the vendors that the car clearly found a buyer who appreciated the care and passion that had gone into It.
I liked that episode, nice gentle one, really showcased the classic way of things.
The Series 1 that was sold by the guy who bought the Singer, I remember that one well. Loved the Singer.
Noticed the old rally plates behind the guy organising the sale of the XR2.
Not much else to say, except more please, and thank you to all, and best wishes for 2021 to Mumbles Boy, the TV production crew and all at Matthewson's past and present.

One episode repeated recently had a few views of what was described as a Herald 13/60 converted to look like a Vitesse estate. I have to confess that what I saw of it got me thinking that it might have been one of the very few official factory Vitesse estates. If not, it was a very good conversion.

Think they said there were a handful converted by a dealer.Thought it was quite a cool little thing to be honest.
