Blimey, selling a Porsche Boxster is a hell of a side-effect!

44-year old male, slim, good health, OAZ vaccine 12:00pm yesterday.

Felt fine until about 8pm, then went cold and shivery, achey limbs, bad headache, a bit like a hangover without the stomach being in knots. Put a brave face on as I sold my Porsche Boxster and I had adrenaline coursing through my veins. The sale went smoothly, so I drank a can of beer in bed with the electric blanket on full whack. Woke up an hour or so ago dripping with sweat, but feeling much better. I then read Shed of the Week and have just put a Fray Bentos Steak and Kidney pie in the oven as a kill or cure. Hoping to feel fine in the morning smile
Year younger than you but a couple of weeks ahead on the second shot, hang in there man! Good effort on the beer and pie in bed.

Very similar to me. 42 here, had first dose of OAZ yesterday morning, felt fine for the rest of the day until early evening then went tired with flu like aching limbs / shivery. Been on the paracetamol since but not slept much so feeling pretty naff. Still tired / aching limbs / fuzzy head this morning so think it will be a day in bed / on the setee today. Luckily had this week booked off work as I doubt i would have gone in today feeling like this.

Going to have my second OAZ this morning - hoping it won’t be as bad as the first which knocked me out for a couple of days. At least I have the weekend to recover I suppose.

Second Pfizer shot today exactly 21 days after the first.

After the first one, had a slight numbness at the injection site when my arm was lifted above my head. Normal otherwise.

Will report back in the second in due course.
Today I'm feeling great (knock on wood!).

Same sore feeling when I lift my left arm above my head otherwise no issue. Will see what happens over the next few days.

Was surprised to see my insurer only paid $2.59 for the shot!

I seem to remember arm pain after the BCG. Think it’s pretty normal after having a needle stuck in your arm
I'm guessing it's to do with the injection into the muscle instead of fat? What's weird is that with my arms out front or down there's no pain at all. Above my head is wear it hurts. Who knows!
I think so. Although the needle snapped in my arm with the BCG which wasn’t great hehe

42 fit no issues, had covid before. Got the OAZ jab midday weds, woke up with mild fever next night, one paracetamol sorted it but didn't sleep after. Bit achy the next day but paracetamol staved it off and was fine by mid afternoon.

Mum in 70s had pfizer, no symptoms at all on first jab but was a tired & under weather for a few days after second.

People I work with seem to vary from no side effects at all to being bed ridden for a few days, mild symptoms for a day or so seems most common but that's purely anecdotal.

Would stagger them if you're parents with young kids just incase!

45, had the AZ jab yesterday @ 4pm, didn't really feel the actual injection and my arm has been fine, feeling the flu like symptoms though, necking paracetamol every4-6 hrs to get over it.

my wife (42), doesn't look it though wink, on the other hand is laid up in bed and cannot raise her arm above her shoulder.

A man goes to the doctors and says “Doctor, I’ve a strange problem, I’m producing huge, frequent farts, but they are completely silent. I’ve just done one now, as it happens.”

“I see” says the doctor, “let’s start by getting you booked in for a hearing test.”

YES, if you have your eyes open. Celebrity and/or status seems to be more important than competence these days.
But the clinical trials were carried out by scientists, not by the cast of TOWIE.

Both jabs have knocked me bandy.

1st one after 24hrs, 2nd after 40, guess they're working.

I was getting headaches 3-4 weeks post AZ jab, but I can't be sure they didn't start a few days before.

Doctor did a load of tests (all clear) but sent me to A&E to be sure. 7 hours later, post blood test and CT scan I was told everything normal, so sent home.

Assume it is neck related, but once AZ was ruled out, NHS not interested.

I'm still nervous having the 2nd jab. Hmm.
My wife has headaches and now almost 2 weeks since AZ 1st jab. She called 111 on Sunday and they got a GP to call her, after that they suggest she went to A&E. Ended up having same as you and told all is normal and sent home. Bit shocking really.

She is also nervous about second jab, but I pointed out you lose efficacy unless you have both.
I hope she is now feeling better.

As soon as it came back 'ok' they didn't want to know. Two others were going through the same thing.

Four weeks later (and post hernia operation!) and I've still an achey head. Probably neck related (been to an osteopath which helped), but I'm fed up with feeling crap.

I'm still considering refusing 2nd dose and asking for Pfizer, if such a thing is possible!.

It's possible but not recommended.

Medically, operationally or politically?

Probably a discussion with my doctor then, if the first AZ jab didn’t cause the problems then the chances are the second won’t. The CT scan and bloods tell me nothing sinister going on, so I should be fine.

Of course a trial which hasn't concluded yet reported a little over two weeks ago trumps current medical advice.

"The NHS has very tight control of this and the JCVI does not currently advise mixing and matching."

2nd Jab at 10:20 this morning....So far, so good. No arm pain, no headaches - nothing !

Literally took 2 mins start to finish. There was no one at the vaccination centre when I turned up. Presented my vaccine card, walked straight in, sat down - jabbed and out again. Didn't bother waiting 15 mins as after 5 minutes I was bored....
