England is mine

A look at the early life of Morrissey, I have never really liked the bloke, but no doubt the Smiths are one of the greatest bands ever, so I was a little disappointed that the film finished before the Smiths got started.

Never the less, still a solid 7/10 for those that like to look into the lives of others.

Rush
I've seen it before but my parents had not, and I thought they would enjoy it and I was right.

(Currently included with Amazon Prime.)

Midnight Run (again, thanks for the reminders about netflix) - just quality. It is interesting to see a program from 30 years ago and the differences (smoking, no computers, no mobiles, dreadful cars) are interesting

Drive
Quite possibly the worst film I've watched this decade, and a criminal waste of a good cast. 0/10

Watched Dunkirk tonight. Plodding, slow, inaccurate ste, one of the worst movies I'd had to endure this year.
You weren't in the correct frame of mind as it's Christmas.

You didn't see it in the cinema.

You're probably too young to appreciate it.

It doesn't have to be perfect but just symbolise, give an idea and summon up many aspects of that day. Can you imagine what it must of been like given the circumstances, I think not.

Merry Christmas.

More port please.
No, it's an awful film!

Lets be honest now, I’m not much of a film buff, having the attention span of a Jack Russell in a room full of Jane Russell’s in heat, some of this grading business just baffles me.

The Foreigner: really enjoyed this, well put together, interesting that a Chinese backed production company chose this subject matter.

In Bruges: loved this, has everything l like in a film, good characters, great location and a good yarn. I love a good film from this side of the pond.

Sour Grapes: documentary about wine fraud, interesting take on the value of wine and what the long term implications of what happened are.

Big sick: thought this would be a good romantic film to watch with Mrs. DG3 Christmas day, slow and boring, kept wanting to give up, but the reviews said it was great, persevered wish l hadn’t.

Tried watching it last night, managed 40 minutes before giving up. No redeeming features, Will Smith is picking some really bad 'star' roles recently.

fantastic movie

Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion whatever they may be, but maybe when you don't like a movie that has 93% on RT and is Empire's best film of the year its not to your taste as opposed to be a poor movie?

Blade runner 2049.

A bit long and boring, nothing new really.

Paddington Bear (1). Actually really watchable, Nicole Kidman does a really good evil comic and the CGI is really quite good.

8/10. A much better film than The Last Jedi

RT has form for fiddling, though the user score of 79% seems quite good. Metacritic on the surface has a realistic score.
I used to love Empire (have issues from 1990-200ish for sale if anyone ants 'em. biggrin).
I couldn't stand more than ten mins of Drive, but I'm willing to give it another shot if Empire rates it, film of the year is impressive considering Nightcrawler came out the same year.

its a mood movie with a certain style - certainly picks up with some action scenes (some brutal) but if you don't his character it may grate. I liked the style, the simplicity (its essentially a modern day western) and the soundtrack. Though RG often plays the insular mumbling hero it works here

Lego Batman
I've not seen any of the other Lego films and this isn't normally my thing but I have to admit I really enjoyed it.
