She works far harder than me !
Running a large surgery is a hostile environment these days!
Doctors who absolutely don’t want to do owt
Patients who hate everyone, patients who are far more important than everyone, druggies by the score
Most days she comes home shattered, staff that last a month then leave because of the abuse they receive,
and most them barely get a pound an hour above minimum wage !

Strange place this country now,
So as it’s highly unlikely I’ll ever get her to leave this area
and my very soon OAP status, thought we’d better start doing the home up while we can afford it!
And I’ve just about got some energy!
Down side is I slip abit further down the pole,
Ces’t la vie
Sounds horrific, think we take it all for granted not seeing behind the scenes on a daily basis,

Having recently seen this for myself when i was in A&E for only 14 hours was just a tip of the iceburg,

can't imagine what it must be like for people working with it daily ,you couldn't pay me enough money .

Haha
Like almost everything, it’s all changed and very little for the better,
But it is what it is ,
Any way enough of that,

Lovely day down here , may go for a blast later
Didn’t seem appropriate this morning,

My mate owns this rod now,he bought it after the auction direct from the seller not CC ,one of 4 rods he owns .

Never told me what he paid for it but don't think it was any where near what he is asking,
I bet it was about 25k less than its now up for sale at wink
He's in the motor trade so you could be right.
In that case, probably 30-35k less than its now up for....!!!
Had a good close look around this '32 yesterday at Goodwood.......RR, didn't realise it was Greg who owned it laugh

Yes, he had his blue roadster there as well as the white 32 3w coupe he's just put up for sale. Don't know if he had any of his others there or not. Only managed a 10 min chat with him early on Sunday morning about 8.30.

I didn't see Greg's cars must have missed them ,missed quite a lot really,so much to see, thought it unusual for

him not to have something there, need at least 2/3 days there to take it all in. Think the black roadster was a model A,

Are you sure your not on commission laughlaugh

Love the Fairlane, cheap way into cruiser/muscle yank and half way house between a Galaxie /Falcon

yes it would be better as a 2dr but probably close to double the price,

Wonder what would be involved in converting it to a floor gear change , yes

Just having a 'nose' on Real Steel's website and in 'cars for sale' they are showing this -

1963 Ford Mercury Comet, 260 V8, 3 speed manual. Incredible, original
condition.Nice interior. No rust, from Texas. Taxes paid, You can register
as the first UK owner! £15,500

Perhaps a little expensive and tudors too many but looks very original in photo's.

Looks a honest car, must be similar size to the Fairlane,

Don't here much about "Real Steel" these days, nice to here they are still going strong,

Years ago they were everywhere, i suppose with the world of Web Sites they don't need

to advertise so much like back in the day.,Any bites on the C3 ,I've had nothing on my ad.

Mercury Comet (back then) I believe was Mercury's version of Falcon. Vette enquiries - nope - zilch response for weeks now. No reaction from the engine only enquirer - no response either from the enquirer 'looking for a toy in the high £20K's". Jon - I'm wondering whether my first response to any enquirers in future should use the first words F**k off, don't waste my time before they even ask any questions. Kinda gets the emotion out of the way and saves needing to do it later when they P*** you about.

I admire some of you guys that deal as part of the hobby
Used to be able the wheel and deal , but avoid it like mad now,
Used to trade with bang sticks and scopes etc,
but gave that up a few years back!
Sooo many bedroom expert's and keyboard warriors

Maybe it’s a age requirement? The older one gets the less patience one seems to have !

Doh! paperbag

That white Mercury Comet with the 260 engine looks very tidy.

Tidying up the naughty cupboard over the weekend I found a GT40 book I'd forgotten I had. You can guess where this is going.... wink

You have to treat them like it's your first enquiry through gritted teeth unfortunately,

Once thought about adding "no time wasters please" but someone said you may as well

not put your phone number in the ad as they don't know they are a time waster rolleyes

My nipper collects vintage watches but moves them around from time to time ,

he gets lots more enquiries than any car advertised but that's all they are or low ball offers ,

Back in the day if you wanted a yank you had to buy "Classic American" remember us all

waiting for latest edition coming through the letter box turning straight to the classified section

and because there was no internet there would be pages and pages of them, likewise if

you were into Italian cars there was "Auto Italia"Classic Car "or "Classic & Sports Car"

for the Classics but now you can at the press of a keyboard dart from one to the other

not needing to make the effort to go to a high end news agent and buy what ever magazine

you were into, add a few beers at 11 o'clock at night to the equation ,that's when you get the email,

can you send me more photo's of the inner inner sills, inside the fuel tank and glove box please,

Chances are they live less than 30 miles away ,lf or when you do that you never hear from them again,

No acknowlegement that they received them or thanks but no thanks, Sometimes it's a advantage being

a none techy pensioner , nerdlaugh

If only we could beam ourselves back to those days

Best we can do to get close to that is drive our classics to try and relive them,

Driving a 50's /60's full size convertible yank must be the best therapy out there, smokin

Should be on the national health yes

I'd love to see the look on our local chemist's face when I present him with a prescription for a large dose of '63 T-Bird to be taken twice daily.... wink

Here's one for you RR, what's the yank in the background behind old Englebert's Roller in this pic taken at Elstree...?
