Daniel Day -Lewis is at the height of his powers and this is his last film. The story line can only be described as strange and somewhat disturbing but it is worth a look.

The Post.

Spotlight was a real highlight for me a couple of years ago, so perhaps that ruined this for me.

Very polished, very Hollywood, very Speilberg is how i’d summarise it. Streep and Hanks are immaculate, the cinematography is excellent. However the screenplay is clumsy, and characters have no depth. The feminism element is dealt with incredibly ham fistedly. For me, this film was instantly forgettable, which is a real shame as the story is not.

5/10.

3 Billboards. As good as everyone is making it out to be; quite a few twists in there that I didn't see coming too. Outstanding cast; 3 main players all knock it out the park; always great to see Peter Dinklage, Clarke Peters and Zeljko Ivanek on the screen to.

Pirates of the Caribbean and the island of piss not sure what it’s called guessing the latest as just come on sky.

My lord how shocking bad, I only started to watch as I remember people on here saying it was good and back on form.

Detroit - Strong performances all round mostly. Based loosely on true events also. Not what I was expecting but a good flick.

In Bruges - I always assumed this was a romcom leaning more towards rom, i.e. a girls movie - how wrong was I. Reminds me a lot of Father Ted comedy. A solid fking midget out of 10 that one so it is.

Yeah I've raved anout In Bruges to people who have taken years to finally watch it, one even took a month after I gave him my DVD.

I guess it's not obvious what kind of film it is from the title or the box.

Watched Paddington 2 again this morning. Absolutely perfect...

Now officially the best reviewed film ever, according to Rotten Tomatoes. 100% with 160 ish reviews

Need to see 3 Billboards again soon.
