After the recent article and having a hankering for a hot hatch I got back with what is now my FN2 (Non-GT) a couple of hours ago.

2009, 91k, FSH and MOT'd until May all for the grand sum of £2600 which I think is a bargain.

Got a few little jobs to tidy it up but overall it is very clean.

Jobs I am wanting to get done ASAP are as follows:

Thoroughly clean, polish & wax including filling in a few of the stone chips.

Swap out the crappy gear knob for a genuine Type R ball knob.

Change the front brake pads.

Change the gearbox oil.

Adjust the biting point for the clutch.

Remove the non standard HID kit and put back to standard.

Absolutely loved the drive home and looking forward to getting stuck in on Saturday.

It was a finance repossession that went through my local auction and garnered a lot of attention. Thought it was worth a punt. By the time I have sold my Mini it will be a very cheap upgrade.

When you say 'adjust the biting point for the clutch'

They are hydraulic? So I guess you mean replacement? Unless you are going to try bleeding it? But that would indicate a slave cylinder issue...

Anyway I digress, nice cars, if a little thirsty for the performance on offer!

The pedal can be adjusted by adjusting the pushrod that actuates the master cylinder. So not actually changing the biting point just pedal position. It was the easiest way for me to describe it.

Fortunately just a cheap weekend toy for me so not too bothered about economy.

I'm 8 months into ownership of my FN2 now and they weirdly grow on you the longer you own it. I'd highly recommend a set of Eibach lowering springs, they soften up the hard ride just the right amount.

Well I got an early stack from work and have had chance to have a more in depth look.

Still just as clean as I remembered from yesterday but needs pads all. Anyone know if you need a winding tool for the rears?

What a bargain. That’s a hell of a car for that money.

Thanks! I was pretty chuffed, and still am, with what I gave for it.

Think I will sort all the niff naff for a couple of hundred and then just look forward to using it and trying to further restore it. Some may think I am mad as its only an old Civic but I find it pretty satisfying it although the Wife will undoubtedly hate me!!!

Got bored after another early finish... Quick hoover, wash, clay and wax.

Looking better already. All my orders should start arriving end of this week. Now including brake pads for front and rear. Another job for the list.....
