Fitting a vinyl roof - where to go???
Discussion
I believe that http://southwestsunroofs.co.uk/contact-us may be able to help you. Not exactly in Southampton but not too far away.
Pretty much any auto upholsterer should be able to help. It is a good time to sort window rubbers and any chrome trim that may fit around it.
If it has had a vinyl roof from new then unless you can do the work yourself I would take it to a body shop first as there will usually be rust under there. But speak to the upholsterer first. It really isnt that hard to do...even though I stuffed it up

One difficulty will be with the finisher trims around the glass. In the 70s and 80s when vinyl roofs were very popular, most front and rear screens were fitted in rubber. This gave good tolerance for the extra thickness and seam lines of the vinyl. More modern cars like the OP's Rover 800 have very small tolerances around the glass and a very slim trim/finisher to bridge the gap between glass and body.
