Evening,
Tonight it seems I have to partake in drinking a large amount of the stuff...
I'm not a huge fan of Vodka, but can stomach it with some tonic water.
Anyway, I'm after some suggestions of palatable mid-range/price Russian potatoe juice.
I'm assuming most are still sold in one, or one-and-a-half litre bottles?
Cheers.

Unless you're drinking the stuff straight dont f
k about with anything "expensive" or in a fancy bottle. Smirnoff will do just fine for cocktalks/mixers, in fact morisons/tescos/sainsburys own brand gut-rot wont make you blind and will have exactly the same effect.
Damn right!
I wish it was Friday night.....................
haha me too, I had "work drinks" and to be acceptable I had 5 or 6 pints of fizzy wee / lager.
Massive hangover... absolutely f'ing epic.
I can happily stick a bottle of smirnoff away on the weekend and not feel anywhere near as bad.
Just going to have to bite the bullet and have vodka in future.
pisses me off when vodka "experts" bang on about how great grey goose or something else is and take the piss for my choice of "cheapo" vodka, then proceed to mix it up with half a litre of concentrated orange juice from a carton or a can of redbull!
How the hell are you ever going to taste it though all that sugar anyway!

For a cheap glugger, Russian Standart. £11 - £15 from Asda, Sainsbury, Waitrose.
Often on offer, but worth paying full price for, IMHO.
the platinum is good stuff. i'm not a vodka drinker but i have this and stoli in for those who are. these taste relatively smooth to me, i can't stand smirnoff.Often on offer, but worth paying full price for, IMHO.

However believe it or not it was trounced in a blind tasting by a quadruple-distilled Baltic vodka called 'Odin' I bought from Leclerc in Boulogne for the equivalent of £7 a bottle.
Naturellement, I've never seen the stuff since.

Gorgeous stuff! Can be drunk neat too easily though!

Description:
Aivy (eye-vee) is a delicious blend of pear, strawberry and mint, with the flavours in order is as you read it.
This combination works so well that in its native Sweden, Aivy was the outright winner during a blind tasting by the Swedish Retail Monopoly (Systembolaget) and given an immediate countrywide listing.
French Bay Vodka? The vodka is Swedish but Aivy was conceived in the Cariel office in Franska Bukten (French Bay), Stockholm.
An original name was created for this original vodka, first thought of as Ivy, but in Swedish this would be mis-pronounced. By calling it Aivy they knew that Swedes, along with the rest of te world would then ask for it as 'eye-vee'.
Amazing as a frozen shooter, great with lemonade or cranberry juice for a perfect summer drink; and recommend an Aivy Capiroska as the best cocktail you'll try this summer.
Aivy Capiroska
2 Shots Aivy (50ml)
1 Whole Lime chopped or in wedges.
2 Teaspons of sugar (golden preferred)
Crushed Ice
Muddle the wedges and sugar in a tumbler, top with crushed ice, pour Aivy over ice.
Stir and serve.
