Anyone know where I can buy a set in Glasgow or Ayr ? I know that I can get online but would rather see them before buying

Ive ordered these

They take up to 9" wide wheels, made of steel, if your not in a hurry I should have them next month sometime if you wanted to pop through to Edinburgh to try them.

They are actually coming from America, but being imported by Corvette Kingdom in Norfolk who will ship up to me. Reason I went this route was that any low rise ramps I found in the UK were either not suitable for my Corvette or too expensive. These should work out around £100 delivered to my door.

Those look very nice indeed. Do you happen to know if there's a weight limit on them? I'm potentially looking for a set that would suit my car but also my campervan (2550kgs). I've got a trolley jack that caters for both but in all honesty would prefer ramps.

'fraid not Ally, here is what the description says
"These are high quality steel ramps designed to accept wide profile tires, keep tires centered, and prevent roll-off. Each pair of ramps includes one pair of 9" wide incline extenders - made of high impact polymer construction. The polymer pieces extend the ramp length, improve clearances for low profile vehicles and add stability to the ramps." It also says they are ideal for Corvettes and my Corvette weighs about 1300kg so no help really, but I'll see what the packaging says when they arrive and post up.

Thanks Graeme. To be honest I've got other things I should be spending money on than ramps, but they certainly appeal.

update on search :-)

For a while now I have been looking for a decent set of car ramps for the chimaera and came across this today.

http://www.ramps4cars.co.uk/custom_ramps2.html

Spoke at length with the company and he can basically alter heights and widths to suit as well as the stock sizes listed.

Best of all for me they are based in Ayr so no delivery costs wink

He is also happy to look at group buy discounts if anyone else is interested

I have a pdf with prices and more details if anyone wants

I've got a pair of long ramps which are pretty good (got them for working under the Chimaera). The only problem is accessing under the car for the side. The ones VetteGs ordered my be a better option.

Used the ramps a couple of times now and they are great, simple to use and remove the extensions etc. Exactly what it says on the tin as it were. If you are around Edinburgh anytime get in touch and you can see/try before you buy.

I would love a set of those! Would just struggle with where to keep them although for the right price i'm sure I would find a home for them.
