I know there's the Youtube thread, but it's not something I ever look at and I'd imagine most things on tehre are cats doing something funny or babies biting their brothers fingers and the like, not things that could be discussed.

Because this thread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

had a Youtube link, it was locked and Big Al gave the blanket cover-all excuse of because it was a Youtube clip it had to go into the bottomless pit of the Youtube thread.

Could there be a bit more discretion on this, some things could be discussed and just because the OP relies on a Youtube clip, doesn't necessarily means it can just be dumped there, as I'd imagine there are a lot of people like me who don't bother with that thread.

Sort of like having a Daily Mail links thread really, so much stuff would be missed by people.

This has just pissed me off too.

The racist woman on the tram was clearly a thread in its own right.

Suspect Big Al is actually a forum bot.

MUST LOCK YOUTUBE THREADS.

I mean ffs, there was a news article posted in the thread about the video. Could it not have just been moved to NPE?

Big Al - regarding your final pre-lock comment in the Feedback thread - why not close every thread and you could have a /really/ tidy forum? Get rid of all those pesky posters!

Seriously, I know what you are trying to do, but can't you see that it's a thread on a particular news item that happens to have been on video? It's absolute lunacy that there is no thread running on it!

By all means move it to the News/Politics section, but YT thread!?

The vast majority of youtube clips posted are just the link, no description some are even NSFW, now if you work in a very strict (material wise) internet viewing environment some of these clips if you clicked on them COULD cause you a great deal of grief.

This is one of the main reasons for herding them in the youtube thread, members who frequent the lounge know that that thread could cause problems and steer clear of it at work.

So it's not just "robo mod mode it's done for a reason.
