Has anyone ever used them?

What do you reckon?

Are there any other similar companies doing the same thing
you could recommend?

Thanks

We got the blinds for our kitchen and breakfast room from them and could not fault the service, in particular when a few of the plastic clips broke they sent out a number of free replacements straight away.

You can also haggle with them for a better price

I used them to kit out my previous flat. We had wooden slat venetian blinds in bedrooms, metal slat in living/dining room and metal slat ones fitted to the patio doors. All seemed decent quality as fitting was well done.

As above I couldn't fault the service and price seemed pretty competitive.

I found Hilarys quite expensive. Got same quality wood shutter blinds from Shutterly Fabulous in Brighton. They were happy to come to London so may go elsewhere

We used them in our "old" house. The price was broadly in line, and their service fixing an issue 18 months later was good too.

They are 1 man band franchises so each is as good as its owner I'm afraid. Product Ok, but initial fitting poor, and we had to shout a lot at Hilary's HO to get the next door franchisee out to redo them.

I'd not use them again - but probably not fair as our experience down to one individual

We have the wooden slatted ones and some placcy verticals. The first guy just completely ignored us then it got escalated & sorted. Good product, the cat breaks the clips on the verticals & they've just sent a bag of bits out to fix 'em for free. We were very agressive when negotiating price & got around 25% off the initial price!

Hillary's were slated on Watchdog - very bad fitting, didn't patch up bits of the walls they knocked off etc.

We got ours from http://www.blinds-2go.co.uk/ Very fast delivery - first class product - and a lot cheaper than Hillary's.

...Or try these guys.

We just got made to measure vertical blinds for the study and patio door plus my kids new apartment is getting a mix of roller and verticals.

We got free samples sent first for half a dozen different fabrics so we could see the quality. Very easy to fit (20-30 mins a window depending on the number of vanes to assemble) and have a sister company for roller blinds too.

We used Hillarys and found them very good, you do need to haggle quite hard on the price though.

Hillarys installed our Roman blinds in the dining room and some Venetian blinds in my office. No complaints, they did a good job on them.

We got them in for a quote on two modestly-sized windows and four Velux skylights. The chap couldn't quote for the Velux, as a 'special team' was needed for those. The two windows came in at £240, which was double the quote from the local competition. He knocked about £50 off when we didn't seem keen, and we said we'd think about it. A week later a telesales rep called to see if we wanted them. I explained they were way more expensive than the alternative and he offered to price-match. I said that would be good, and was still interested in getting the Velux blinds at the same time. He said he'd contact the right team and book an appointment. I never heard from them again...

I've used this company a few times and have been very happy with the service, price and quality of the stuff I've bought:

http://www.web-blinds.com

They are Hillary's eCommerce company, so you get the same stuff as Hillary's but much cheaper

Main reason I was thinking of using Hillarys was due to them doing the fitting

Where in the Country are you?

I can recommend two 'independants' who'll measure and fit for a very good price. South London / Southern Counties area.
