About multi-drop van driver job
Discussion
depends who you work for.
guys i know who work for tnt, can be on 60-80 drops/collections a day, but tnt appear to route pretty well, so all in a reasonably concentrated area. i think as long as you don't speed, jump lights and wear your seat belt, you should be ok, although you may be liable to the odd parking ticket along the way.
i do agency work on the lorries when i'm not touring, and its very quiet at the mo.
recently looked at van jobs online, alot are not much above minimum wage to be honest. the same for some hgv work aswell.

Multi-drop is not an awful lot about the driving unless you get an out of town route.
If you do domestic it's a nightmare with people being out and not being able to deliver/leave the package.
You will be working against the clock and expect a lot of drops. 80-100 a day is not uncommon.
That said you never have time to get bored, you'll get/stay fit and being outside is great most of the time.
I did sameday courier work and loved it. Long hours (10-12 a day), silly miles (300-500 a day) and okay money. It was the freedom and seeing the country I enjoyed.
Treat it like your very own business and be meticulous with your customer care. It pays off with happy clients

I did multidrop for a few years when I was 18 and I loved every minute of it.
Mind you, my delivery area was W1 and NW1, so most of the drops were within a spits distance of each other, and the scenery was pretty cool..
Once I got to know my route and my customers, I could be at home by 2pm which was pretty good too..
In the end, I gave it up as the London traffic stress got too much, plus the pay NEVER went up.
If your 18-19 ish and don't mind hard work, it can be an ok job, but I'd never be able to do 70-100 drops a day now especially for the money you get..
